For myself, I found that including the following MD and SD changes was very successful. This deck does well by pumping out many 5/5 artifacts faster than your opponent usually can handle while disrupting their mana base, creature production, and plainswalker abilities. I came in 6th out of 54 at a tcgplayer qualifier with a slight alteration of this deck and always go a minimum of 3/4 at FNM.
MD
+1 Inquisition of Kozilek
+1 Contaigon Clasp
+2 Mana Leak
-1 Throne of Geth
-3 Spreading Seas
-1 Inkmoth Nexus
+1 Island
SD
2 Duress (for caw blade matchup)
2 Spell Pierce
2 Into the Roil
1 Argent Sphinx
3 Spreading Seas
1 Tumble Magnet
2 Memoricide
1 Black Sun's Zenith
If my opponent casts natural order, can I respond and kill all of his creatures with pyrokinesis? I assume if natural order has no legal targets it fizzles?
A few weeks in a row I have been paired up with a particular individual who seems to go to time every single match unless he is winning. This week I was matched up against him and he did it again. I had the upper hand and he slow played me seemingly purposely.
Here is one example of the types of plays he makes when he is slow playing someone (other than shuffling for a ridiculously long time - both mine and his deck): I play inquisition of kozilek on him (he is completely tapped out). He then takes about thirty seconds of shuffling his hand before handing it over to me to resolve the effect (his field was empty). His hand included:
Hand of the Praetors
2x [CARD]veridian corruptor
[/CARD]
There was nothing he could do... yet he would not hand over the cards even after I pointed out his slow play.
This has been a persistent problem for about two months and it seems that the store is unwilling to do anything about it.
That last game went to time and we drew (i would have won the match turn six with tezz and inkmoth combo). This seriously messed up my running for the night and I just want to figure out how to prevent this in the future.
This was out on my side of the field for the majority of the game. I realize it wouldn't have literally destroyed it but would have effectively made it useless
Let me start off by saying I am unfamiliar with more cards than your average magic player.
So I was at a tournament and my opponent plays mimic vat. He imprinted one of my creatures and made a token every turn. I end up losing the game. Later I go to look up mimic vat and realize it is a tap ability and that my opponent was not tapping it each time he made the token. He never even touched the card. For a large part of the game I had a card (the name of which escapes me) which allows me to destroy a tapped permanent. I feel kinda screwed over... was he cheating?
