Bought the last six packs at one of my Walgreens. Pulled Torrential Gearhulk and Verdurous Gearhulk. Can't complain.
I have to admit I was envious of your luck and thought I had missed out on this. Was out running errands and stopped by a local Walgreens assuming they be all sold out since it was Friday. They still had 16 packs. Bought 'em all. I pulled a Torrential Gearhulk in the 2nd pack opened and thought "no way I am this lucky". A few packs later, sure enough Verdurous Gearhulk. Bonus for a Saheeli Rai opened in the last cracked pack. So thanks for the OP heads up, thanks for the inspirational story that got me in, and thank you Walgreens Pack Faerie for the good luck.
Glad to read you had good luck in your pulls. I would also like to thank OP for sharing this info. Congrats on pulling Saheeli!
yeah looks similar to the pre-spark art of jace we have seen. would be weird to see him on a white card tho
It wouldn't though. The flavor of his backstory and going into exile fits. I understand the "Jace on a white card" juxtaposition, but I feel it works, if it is him.
I sacrificed my Tenacious Dead to my Gnawing Zombie and in response to the TD return trigger, my opponent cast Grim Return targeting TD. I asked an ORC and they said it only works if TD is in the graveyard. This was the last match of the event and I needed all the available mana I could have available, so I didn't attempt to pay the return cost. My question is: will the TD return trigger only work if it is in the graveyard? Thanks!!
Best random pulls I've had in recent memory was the 3-pack promo with Sunblast Angel where I pulled Tamiyo and Geralf's Messenger and the Scars box I bought had all 3 Planeswalkers in it.
What disappoints me about Wizards is my submission was chosen as one of the Top 16 and got kicked by an illegal entry, I and seven others. Way to drop the ball, Wizards. Plus, I was pulling for Rites over everything. Would've been insane in Grimgrin EDH. Oh well...
Skip your draw step.
At the beginning of your upkeep, put a devotion counter on ~, then sacrifice a creature. If you do, draw cards equal to the number of devotion counters on ~. If you can't, sacrifice it.
Eldritch Rites would have otherwise been great card in my mind but it has, not one, but two very serious rules constrictions. Sac a non-token creature (I could live with this) and black instants/sorceries only (this on the other hand kills the card imo).
Scenario: Grimgrin EDH. Sac Gravecrawler to Demonic Tutor. Win.
Why on the name of the Almighty does Consuming Contract make you pay life to draw the cards? You already agreed to pay a price by casting the crow-begotten thing, so why do need to pay again to draw cards? That said, its my personal favorite of the 8, I hope it wins.

I'm not complaining. So happy with the fetch.
Pretty sure you meant this or this.
