I'm sure this may have been asked before, but I did search the first couple of pages and to no avail did not find my answer.
Say I have on the board a Spellskite and my opponent plays a Lightning Bolt targetting me, the player. Can spellskite redirect the damage since my opponent is casting a lightning bolt targeting the mode of a player, making spellskite an illegal target due to it not being a player - or since the lightning bolt can target either player OR creature, can spellskite redirect the spell anyways?
Ok, so after playing a friend with my tempered steel deck, a question arose.
The board position on my side is simply a memnite, ample land, and a tempered steel. I play a phyrexian metamorph to copy the memnite. Since the memnite is already a 3/3 (1/1 base and +2/+2 from tempered steel), does the phyrexian metamorph copy memnite as a 3/3 and then get +2/+2 (5/5 total) additionally, or does phyrexian metamorph copy memnite as a 1/1 and get +2/+2 from tempered steel?
Since tempered steel does not give counters, it gives permanent power and toughness which should transfer over directly when copied with a metamorph.
(Kind of like when you can play phyrexian metamorph on a card that was made a 5/5 due to Tezzeret, Agent of Bolas, the copy includes the 5/5.

Thanks again
