I'm not worried about the card being good if you've already set up a huge storm count and you have Grapeshot in your hand, because it wouldn't really add anything... you've already won. It's good if you've got your broken combo running, fair enough!
Comparing to Chandra's Phoenix's is interesting, never thought about that card.
Chandra's Phoenix definitely saw Standard play and was a pretty excellent way of beating removal though it's true it was slightly better since it had good interactions with Shrine of Burning Rage and could hit more than once.
Power level wise the card is pretty high but not broken but I think it would be more "fun" at 4 CMC.
If you're interested in playing with Fuse, maybe word it similar to Haunt?
Fuse (Exile target artifact fusing target permanent, that permanent gains all colors, abilities and creature types of the exiled card.)
For reference Haunt:
702.53. Haunt
702.53a Haunt is a triggered ability. "Haunt" on a permanent means "When this permanent is put into a graveyard from the battlefield, exile it haunting target creature." "Haunt" on an instant or sorcery spell means "When this spell is put into a graveyard during its resolution, exile it haunting target creature."
702.53b Cards that are in the exile zone as the result of a haunt ability "haunt" the creature targeted by that ability. The phrase "creature it haunts" refers to the object targeted by the haunt ability, regardless of whether or not that object is still a creature.
702.53c Triggered abilities of cards with haunt that refer to the haunted creature can trigger in the exile zone.
I personally don't love giving white card draw like this but if you were going to I guess a balance effect isn't such a bad thing.

Reveal the top five cards of your library. If you have fewer cards in hand than an opponent, then put all cards revealed this way that are not permanents in your hand. Then for each permanent revealed this way, if you control fewer permanents of that type than an opponent put it into your hand.
I'm pretty sure nonpermanents doesn't have any rules meaning though feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.
Good, probably too good and easy for Turbo Fog to accomplish.
Not necessarily a bad thing but I'm leery of alternate wincons under 4 CMC. I think if you wanted to be safe, you could make it like Battle of Wits for 3UU or 1UUU would work too.
Yes, yes... that might work nicely AND lower the power level a bit, excellent!
I'm thinking something along the lines of:
At the beginning of your end step, you may sacrifice a creature. If you do, return it the the battlefield under your control at the (beginning of the next end step/your next upkeep)?
Obviously the next end step is a lot stronger since you'll get to attack with it but I also like the flavor of the Wurm being SO huge, that he kinda just lays there eating stuff. If we went with the upkeep trigger, I think the CMC could be dropped to 7 mana pretty safely. (And 6 if we wanted to push it)
I think another good comparison is Chandra's Phoenix which required you to not only play a vulnerable creature but recast it should it get killed (which is a lot harder for enchantments)
If any rarity is a place to do something quirky and weird, it would by Mythic IMO. Gaining life based on power is what I wanted the BG portion of the card to convey since green often "cares about" having the biggest creature on the battlefield like in Triumph of Ferocity and black often cares about killing your opponents creatures for life ala Deathgreeter. The WG portion of the card represents life gain ala Enfulging Slagwurm and Proper Burial
I love Doomgape and I won't deny it was a inspiration for me but I really love the more playable nature of this card, combined with the flavor and mechanics cohesion.
Knowledge Upwelling is a pretty strong but I think if you're looking for an infinite combo, there are much cheaper choices out there (*cough* Earthcraft + Squirrel Nest *cough*) I'm just looking for a decently strong card draw engine for green that can be susceptible to a little abuse like Arbor Elf, Early Spring, etc since after all if it just wants cards, it could go for Bottled Cloister.
Ouroboros, the Eternal5WBG
Legendary Creature - Wurm (M)
Whenever a creature dies, you may gain life equal to that creature's power.
At the beginning of your end step, you may sacrifice Ouroboros and return it to the battlefield.
10/10
Flavor: A wurm that eats EVERYTHING including itself.

Enchantment (R)
Enchant land
Whenever enchanted land becomes tapped, you may draw a card.
Just how like I like green card advantage, slow and powerful. In addition, from a Melvin standpoint, I love how you can use this as pseudo land destruction by choosing an opponent's land.
Delver is nowhere near a control deck its first and foremost a tempo deck. If you remove their early Delver,Goyf, w/e their counters aren't going to do anything.
The closest thing Modern has to a control deck is UW tron and even that is part combo
I think what would happen is that players would just put one of them in their decks which isn't really what you want since it's like you're essentially playing with Moxes but with a 1 per deck limit and whoever gets theirs out first gets a big advantage.
I really don't like having lands that tap for more than one mana without some sort of big condition (ala the bouncelands like Gruul Turf) and making a land pseudo Legendary isn't really the way to go to if you want that sort of effect in my opinion.

I think a good cost for it would be 1RRR or 2RR

Bolt, Path are good maindeckable answers

True, true! However, I also feel Xathrid Gorgon is 6 mana though so it doesn't push the power envelope quite as much as GigaGuess' card does.
