thanks guys. i guess ill take your word for it, but i thought you can't cast a spell and let it resolve without passing priority (play dream stalker and let it resolve without passing) because you have to give them a chance to counter, which is, well, passing priority. so that means the whole time you're comboing off they can't counter anything either? that doesn't make sense to me, but since quite a few people said it i guess i'll trust em. but if you have any more info to help me understand further, that would be nice.

because i don't like playing against it. also, if it wasn't good enough to be banned, what would all this fuss be about?

why to people play Venser, Shaper Savant in aluren? this may sound like a stupid question, but idk. i heard "so i can give imperial recruiter more targets" but that doesn't make sense to me. if you know the combo, you probably know that once you play aluren and then the recruiter you've already won (unless they counter or something). so then i thot, "well, of course, so then you can counter right back again and hope you draw another recruiter," but that doesn't make any sense. besides, venser costs four, so it cant be played for free with aluren, and once you've used the mana for aluren then you probably dont have much left for venser. so what's the point?

    Quote from axn
it's going to be a waiting game because whoever casts the recruiter first will lose with the recruiter still on the stack
say player A casts the recruiter, and player B casts his own in response
with A's recruiter on the stack, all of B's cip triggers will end up eventually killing A, barring other influences

ok so what i'm understanding is that A casts recruiter, B casts recruiter in response, and then gets to search first. so then once both people search, wouldn't B get to play the searched card first, then A would play in response, and wouldn't it be reversed?
    im still confused. Slant

if it is aluren vs. aluren, and one person plays aluren, and both have an imperial recruiter in hand, who wins?

(fyi aluren + recruiter = win because you search for a dream stalker, play it, bounce recruiter, play it, search for cavern harpy, play it, bounce dream stalker, play it, bounce recruiter, play it, search for parasitic strix, and strix + harpy = infinite damage and life)

aluren allows a player to play creatures as an instant, so who wins? i don't think the person who plays it can do everything without passing priority, but i'm not sure. for imperial recruiter to search, it has to resolve, and i think (not sure) if you're letting something resolve then you're also passing priority (as to give a chance to counter by the other person).

please help me because i'm making an aluren deck and i have no idea whether to sideboard against other aluren decks or not. if it ends up that i should, what sideboard card do you suggest? (already have duress + daze in main for disruption) thanks.

You need card tags in future posts. Read the Forum Guidelines. -Carsten
