No. But I can read your huge font. And I read it the first time. Perhaps if I rephrase my question:

You are not making any sense to me. Would you care to explain why you have "seniority" in this discussion and how a person who has received an infraction ITT (and posts in humongous font like that) be a "cool headed voice of reason"? Or were you trolling again?

Ok, so, let's pretend I was being serious and not obviously farcical and trying to lighten the mood a little bit.

I've known the two main posters in the headline of this thread probably longer than anyone else ITT (I mean, we're talking, 2003ish). And on top of that, I've been a member of this forum longer than most of the people ITT (see the join date? It's right over there).

So, those both qualify me for seniority.

And I'm obviously cool headed. But I assume you weren't questioning that part. That would just be crazy.

And, most importantly of all, I know how to post in humongous fonts. Which, is an obvious prerequisite for communicating with a lot of people at the same time and would be invaluable in such a discussion.

edit: denigrating?!?! denigrating?!? I haven't denigrated anyone!

    I'm sorry, what?

    Oh, sorry.

I think I should obviously be in the discussion, as a cool headed voice of reason. Also, seniority. Can you hear me now?

    Spam warning issued.

Don't ignore the parts you find inconvenient. They still count.

Um, "overly-condescending" is akin to trolling

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Troll_(Internet)

In Internet slang, a troll is someone who posts inflammatory,[2] extraneous, or off-topic messages in an online community, such as an online discussion forum, chat room, or blog, with the primary intent of provoking readers into an emotional response[3] or of otherwise disrupting normal on-topic discussion.[4]

Also, I applaud Ria's terse and obtuse posts for showcasing just how little he values transparency.

"I'm on vacation and can't respond to a drama thread only I will respond to it but I'll be as vague and deflective as possible."

    Smiledown

EDIT: Also, if he's squeezing in time for a "group chat", it seems like he has some time after all.

You're acting like you've never interacted with Rian ever in your life.

    Have you?

Because 'terse' and 'obtuse' are pretty much descriptors I would use for every one of his posts forever. But someone still made him an admin.

Which is why I'm unsure. Your content is good, but your writing style is...inflammatory at best. I'm sure I'm not the only one who has been thinking that the last few pages. My apologies.

Oh, I'm definitely inflammatory. Sometimes on purpose, sometimes not.

    Basis.

I was cited for being "overly-condescending" (direct quote).

    not trolling.

I feel like Grakthis is just trolling, but I dunno. This is about more than just some stubbed toes, and I feel like anyone smart enough to play Magic is smart enough to understand that. And suggesting that everyone just exodus is a horrible and base idea -- if it's possible to fix the problem, why not try to do so while causing the least damage possible. Sometimes splits are inevitable, I'll agree, but I don't see this as one of those times.

I don't troll. And dismissing my opinions as "trolling" with no basis is pretty insulting. I've put some actual effort into them. Maybe you should address them instead of dismissing them?

Do you really not understand why Az COULDN'T have posted that to begin with Grakthis?

(Is the Mafia Forum on GG dead or not? How many players do you have on it?)

Sadly, it's mostly dead now. But it's got a rich mafia history and could easily be revived with an influx of players. Even just a few.

Viricide's post is very well written and persuasive and is what Az should have posted to begin with.

Enlighten me, what is this GG, I may actually want to flee like a ship rat on a floundering vessel. You can pm me if you do so choose.

People don't know about GoodGamery? That really surprises me, as so many people are active on both sites I'd think it would be common knowledge.

It's a website with its roots in MTG but with an expanded purposes of all gaming... video games, board games, other card games, etc.

the rules are looser than MTGSal, but no where near as loose as MT was back in the day.

    http://www.goodgamery.com

Az and Rian are both active members, but I trace my interactions with them all the way back to MT days.

    Am I decrying it? No

Am I wondering why you as a person who appears to be fighting for the current administration are suggesting something similar happens here? Oh hell yes.

Or maybe did you fail to think through your first post adequately?

That's a good question! Let me expand my position more so you can understand. My position is that there is no indication that the moderation here is a problem or that it is detrimental to the health of the forum. My position is that there are a small number of people dragging their heels and trying to fight change because they don't want things to change.

My position is that if everyone who's really mad leaves, it won't be very many people. And life will go on and the forum will be better for it.

If there's a pub, and I love that pub, and I go there all the time, and one day they turn the pub into a dance club, I'm going to be mad about it. But if the dance club is packing in 5 times the people, they aren't going to listen to me when I want them to go back to being a pub. And when I stop going there, they aren't going to be upset. They already replaced me with 5 club kids.

What confuses me the most is why Az (and Corroded and Lycant) don't just post on GG and be done with a website that doesn't have the culture or content you all apparently want.

Why are you trying to shove a square into a round hole, and decrying the size of the hole for being wrong? I know where there's a square hole already... you do too.

So your one response to this is if people don't like how they are being treated they can always leave.

You are aware of what happened to MTGnews when they tried something similar right?

Exactly what was supposed to happen when a website stopped being run in a way that the users of that website appreciated.

Are you going to decry the very event that gave you MTGSal? Was it evil and wrong? Or did it result in the people who wanted something different going out and making it for themselves?
