I like the idea of squaring a number in card text, and even if this card is pretty unacceptable in most formats I think it could be tinkered into a balanced state. I think a sorcery speed restriction on the activation would make it a lot more fair; as is, this card is miles better than the comparison of Oath of Druids because you can just activate it on the opponent's end step and give your creature all the benefits of having haste. Sac four forests, and annihilator 6 the opponent? Yeah, that's all this card will ever do. At least Oath of Druids has your creature sit on the battlefield like a nerd for a turn.

I'd say, Sorcery speed restriction, or just make this thing a Sorcery instead of an enchantment, and perhaps increase its cmc to four (defense of the heart and Pattern of Rebirth are pretty balanced yet powerful, too-strong-for-standard equivalents)

Interesting that they'd make it so safe to activate with the optional animation. Really takes all the risk out of sinking into this card.

That's a pretty bold statement there. Having 4 tap lands is good, but slow. I really don't see how that compares with a cycle of cards that dominated every format.
These could actually be good for the game. One of the worse feelings in the game is getting Mana screwed and not even being able to play the game in the first place.
It's a bad feeling for sure, but it doesn't happen as often as we think it does; also, mulligans are stronger than they have ever been, making them even less likely. I think it would be bad for Magic altogether to have Hearthstone mana progression freedom. This land would be beyond ubiquitous. Also I want to point out how many times you would have to physically shuffle your library with this system.

I want to compare the power level of this card to an active Library of Alexandria on turn 1

I think it's silly that we call a deck of cards a "library." It should obviously be called "The Random Access Memory Of Your Planeswalker," or "TRAMOYP" for short. It's more flavorful when applied that way. Magic cards aren't books! Also, when you play MTG, it helps you feel like a planeswalker, like that old ad campaign.

Also, when are Instants going to be renamed Flashsorceries? Obvious move, WOTC.

This one seems broken to me. The first fetchland you have in your hand ensures your next four land drops regardless of whether you drew them, and also they don't cost you a card from hand, so it's a free Tidings. They would be universally played. It's basically Patches the Pirate from Hearthstone, but way better. More offensive to the overall gameplay of Magic than the pre-nerf Companions were.

Why is it named "Last Nerve?"

I think an effect like this in Red would definitely tax yourself in some way as well, a symmetrical effect, probably would be a sorcery that works until the end of your next turn, or an enchantment that you sacrifice at the end of your next turn. Also the wording is probably off a bit, "target player would pay " versus something like "Target player would have to pay" because a lot of costs are optional trigger stuff.

Command Tower makes no sense in monocolored decks unless you're building a manabase for Field of the Dead

    Why is Growth Spiral banned?

Because they want to sell more Uro still

A 1 mana 2/2 used to be insanely good, now it's just there

Cardboard Carapace is basically this. The more copies you have, the less supply everyone else has access to.

You could also realistically cost this and modify it so that its mana cost also scales with the market price of the card.

Torment was a set that loved Black and this is a card that's built to prey on it, so it's a pretty solid limited common, but it can't do anything in constructed formats

I still say the best possible use is to play it with Urborg. I can see the two working quite well together as one will allow you to tap this painlessly and this can help ramp to big bad guys earlier than expected.

Combos with Urborg to get a Legendary Swamp, hell yeah!

When I see Untaidake I think about Yawgmoth's Vile Offering for some reason. Card never really got any respect. Maybe it's bad but I love it

Menace might be better than intimidate for balance reasons, but otherwise it's a neat card idea.

I think Intimidate works better for a "merchant" than Menace does. If he hired bodyguards, they'd be menacing, but the penny-pinching merchant is just someone you want to avoid.

One thing I was wondering on this one, though, was if I could add a secondary creature type to this. He's not a warrior, and he's not quite a rogue.
