Liliana is generally too slow for what the deck is trying to accomplish, and the same with Dark Confidant...although bob has some great card advantage, he also chunks your life total with pre-prowl costs.
Sidenote...naming the deck "Dastardly Bastardly" is just dumb haha, its just mono b rogues.
I don't think this deck will EVER have to worry about being banned out. Its so easy to hate there is no reason to go past the SB to deal with it.
I think the different sideboard routes tend to dilute the deck, I feel like caverns and pact of negation are probably the best route and just try to combo faster.
What transformable sideboard beats all the creature removal most decks are going to be keeping/bringing in for paladin?
It would be hard to go full aggro enough to overwhelm it. Etched Champion for sure, easy metal craft and go for the beats. And always Arcbound Ravager to make big swings on Champion
Would Leonin Elder help against burn at all? Or would it dilute too much?
Ya I'd have to agree it probably has a fine game 1 because more often then not they'll just tap out turn 2.
But its got to have the worst games 2-3 out of any of the combo decks. It needs protection and everything dilutes it so hard. Pact of Negation seems like the best choice.
But the idea of the deck is to have a surprise factor and also is fun to play. If you really wana win you have to choose other deck, but if you wana enjoy playing magic with a good chance of winning, there are a lot of ways, like this one, Enduring Ideal, Heartbeat Combo, Ninjas, etc...
This. This is why I show interest in the deck because it is a fun one to play, but I'm playing a couple of equally fast/faster combo decks and trying to pick one.
If left unchecked, turn 2-3 is where it wins, tested and proven.
So does almost every combo deck in the format, and they are all much more resilience then this one. MD losing to every single removal spell in modern kinda...sucks.
The deck cantrips for free until it can cast a storm spell for lethal.
It does this by playing the Puresteel Paladin and casting free equipment to draw cards, effectively cantripping while racking up a storm count.
I don't like the Storm Entity finisher, it can just be chumped with no way to remove blockers. Multiple Grapeshot or Empty the Warrensare probably safer bets.
Spoils of the Vault as your tutor makes running a low win con count dangerous.
Ya I've been having a lot of success with the deck, online and at my LGS. Personally I'm surprised more people haven't caught on haha. I'm thinking about doing a primer for it, but I am generally quite lazy :P. Plus the deck performs better when people don't know what it does.
Nice find with the blistergrub, its a harder sequence cause it means you can't have either double in your hand...but its still a good work around for the leyline, other then just bouncing it EoT and going off mainphase.
can a deck that needs to hit a cantrip almost every second card afford that much, stuff?

Glaze Fiend could get lethal quickly.
Just throwing out ideas, the deck really needs a great sideboard.

If you have a Gilder Bairn with a Training Grounds in play, can you just equip Paradise Mantle for an arbitrary amount of any counter? Could be playable in probably the Darksteel Reactor version more likely.
I play them in my Hulk deck that has very consistent turn 1-3 kills.

Adding in Simian Spirit Guides to draw into will help cast your finisher.
All in all seems like a fun deck, but traditional storm seems much stronger.
Looks like tons of fun, just really inconsistent compared to the reliable and fast combos already in modern.

I'll try it out, thanks!
