@Nev I have 1 Ashiok and can obtain 3 Jace, AOT and I feel you're right about devour flesh, what do you think of switching it out for another hero's downfall and two of something else maybe jace, AOT?, also my meta is mostly 3 Esper, MUD, 1 MBD, 2 RDW, 1 RGD, 4 Dega midrange, 1 GB, 1 Jund, 1 GW aggro, 1 UG flash
@Venomous I had Aetherling once upon a time, but felt it just sat in hand against most matchups I was in, or when scrying I would put it on bottom. Because it didn't help nearly as much.
MrQuestionMark: Running Prognostic Sphinx as a two of is great or at least I think so, It dodges removal, and if it lands can help mold your draws
You are right, when the sphinx does stick it is quite good but I find that you almost never get one to stick in our worst matchups (Esper and Mono Black) and that it is kind of an unnecessary "win more" card in other matchups. I'm curious if you've experienced something different with the card? What matchups do you find it to be superior or necessary in? Mono Blue seems like the matchup where it is best (literally blocks everything) but I feel I already have a good matchup there and it still does nothing about an overloaded Cyclonic Rift or an active Thassa. I'd love to hear some more detailed thoughts on the card.
Here's a list a friend and I have been working with recently. Would love to get some thoughts. It has excellent matchups versus creature based stategies in our testing. Decks like RG Monsters, RDW, White Weenie and Mono Blue are all really great matchups. Mono Black and Esper are the hardest matchups because they can both out card advantage us and our best way of interacting with either of them is Ratchet Bomb which is quite slow. Let me know what you think.
Also, I notice that many of you guys are playing Prognostic Sphinx. I tested with this card a bit because I figured it would be a great way to finish a game quickly if I could get a Plate Mail on it but found it to be exceptionally weak in my two worst matchups. Mono Black has so much removal that they can just burn 2-3 pieces on killing it and loose no card advantage still because I have to discard to make them use that much. Also Desecration Demon blocks it really well. And Esper has Supreme Verdict... Curious to know what you guys have found in testing the card.
Even at Comp REL, I've never seen a game get replayed. Going by the mistakes that get brought up for discussion here at various high level events, if you finish a game before you get caught with an illegal deck, the results stand.
Thank you! This is precisely what I was looking for and what I personally believed would and should be the case. I asked because yesterday I was at a tournament at my LGS and the Store Owner/TO had two players replay the third game in the described scenario. And if I am understanding you correctly, even at competitive, so long as it is discovered after the match is decided that there was an astray card, there are no penalties of any sort assigned to either player? What are the penalties and fix at competitive if the astray card is discovered in the middle of a game?
So I have a question about Judging at regular REL. Let's say two players are using the same sleeves and that at some point during the first or second game of the match one of the cards from player1's deck makes it's way into player2's deck without either player noticing until the third game has already been played and won and the match decided. Obviously the astray card should be returned to player1's deck before the next round starts but what about the results of the current match? What if the astray card happened to be one of player1's key cards for the matchup and could seriously effect their ability to win that third game? Should the game be replayed with the card in the correct deck? What if it is discovered in the middle of the third game that the card is in the wrong deck (player2 draws it)? What if player2 does not draw it, but the libraries, hands, graveyards, permanents in play, etc. are counted during the third game for some reason and it is discovered one player is a card short and the other a card up? What if the astray card is not discovered until the first game of the next round is well under way? And last but not least how does all of this change if we are using Competitive REL? Thanks much in advance for your time and replies!
And what is the specific rule in the Comprehensive Rules that says this? (Not that I'm saying you're wrong I'd just like to know for future reference in case someone tries to pull something like this on me.)
So I was just thinking the other day what prevents players from cheating with morph and how would their opponent even know? Imagine I'm at a competitive event for some format where morph cards are legal. And let's say I am sitting there with no creatures and no cards in hand and my opponent is at two life also with no creatures or cards in hand and there is some non-creature effect on the board that gives all my creatures haste. I topdeck a land for my turn. I then tap three mana and say morph playing the land face down and swing for the win. Of course this is obviously cheating and I would never do this but how would my opponent ever know if I had or not?
Alright thanks for the replies!! That equipment thing makes Karn a boss general because I can just ignore lightning greaves and swiftfoot boots and kill their general anyway! Awesome!
So if I play caged sun and name let's say blue in my karn, silver golem EDH deck and then tap my city of brass to add blue mana to my mana pool would I get 2 blue because of the sun? On a separate note if I use Karn's activated ability to target my opponent's equipment does the equipment remain attached, or does it fall off? Thanks!!!!
If you turned Gideon Jura into a creature and put at +1/+1 counter on him with Experiment Kraj would Kraj have Gideon's PW abilities? If he does, how would that work? Could you activate them more than once a turn? Would Kraj instantly die because he has 0 loyalty on him? This baffles me...

So does that mean that when City of Brass is tapped it produces no mana at all?
I thought that copies copied modal effects like that? Like if I overload something and copy it I play the copy as though it were overloaded right?
Alright thanks much
