Hmm... What are peoples feelings on playing manlands in the deck. IMHO they would be a nice addition if control decks are relevant in the meta.
What I'm asking is that what are the reasons to not play say 2-3 manlands in the deck?
Ok. I'm fiddling around here with the Knight of the Reliquary package here and I'm wondering that should I play Ghost Quarter or Tectonic Edge?
In my opinion Edge is better since it won't give them a land.
What's the benefit of picking Ghost Quarter over Edge, since I'm not able to grasp it.
As I am preparing for the PTQ season with Melira Pod out here in the cold north I might aswell start posting here.
I was going trough my random box yesterday and I found this fellow in it: Loxodon Hierarch.
What are peoples opinions on him? He gains life like Obstinate Baloth and costs as much as it does, although he costs 2WG instead of 2GG, but that shouldn't be a problem for the deck. The difference between him and Baloth is that Hierarch can Regenerate your creatures in a need, but Baloth can be cast free if an oponent ever aims a discard spell at you.
Thoughts guys?
@SAURONSMACE
What I think is that if you put Persist first on the stack and then Undying Finks comes into play with a +1/+1 so he is a 4/3. He won't receive the -1/-1 counter since he isn't in the graveyard anymore. And if he dies with a +1/+1 he won't trigger the Undying, but he will trigger his own Persist ability and come into play with a -1/-1 as a 2/1. And when he dies again he triggers the Undying, but not his Persist ad nauseum.
So last weekend we had a GP where Andrew Cuneo finished 2nd with Melira Pod. He was using Mikaeus, the Unhallowed.
People got opinions on this?
On the rules side I was wondering if I had understood the interraction right.
Do persist creatures come into play with +1/+1 counters every other time and with -1/-1 counters when they have +1/+1 counters.
Ok I had to make an account just to be able to say this.
Look at what Yawgmoth's Will does:
Yawgmoth's Will 2B
Until end of turn, you may play cards from your graveyard.
If a card would be put into your graveyard from anywhere this turn, exile that card instead.
Then look at Past in Flames:
Past in Flames 3R
Each instant or sorcery card in your graveyard gains flashback until end of turn. The flashback cost is equal to its mana cost.
Flashback 4R
See what is missing? This: If a card would be put into your graveyard from anywhere this turn, exile that card instead.

...Wups. My mistake. Carry on.

I'll say break-freking-able.
