Doesn't protect planeswalker commanders eh? And the text suggests that if you manage to steal enemy commander they too become indestructible.
I guess, PW commanders can't be destroyed with spells or abilities that destroys PW permanents. But, they can be attacked to reduce loyalty counters as normal.
BFZ feels more like a bad Rise of Eldrazi than Zendikar. They have failed to catch the theme of Kors, Merfolks, Vampires, Eqipments and especially Trap cards. And Allies are not even close enough to the previous ones.
It's also weird in light of that restriction that this is a rare card This is an undebatable uncommon card.
Like that 0/1 flyer or that 0/3 hexproof-defender, both tapping for any-1-color, were uncommon?
1/1 mana slivers; Gemhide Sliver and Manaweft Sliver are common and uncommon. And they can produce any mana without restriction. I'm not saying that this card should be uncommon. Just, rare is not an absolute indicator for such general card type.
I had to create an account on here just to tell you all that you are one SUPER JADED crowd.
Man, MTG players these days have no idea how good they have it. Go back 10+ years and a card like this would have had everyone drooling. Nowadays if it doesn't tap for a million mana, with haste, with indestructible, with power/toughness 999/999 then it's "not good enough".
Get over yourselves. Not every card has to be better than every other card made before it.
In the end, Beastcaller Expert is a niche card for ally tribe and for some creature based ramp up decks. But it is not awesome. I would rather play with Honored Hierarch instead.

Wild slash will be rotating out with Oath, but Fiery Impulse will do the same work

Ten years ago we got Birds of Paradise as Standard legal and nearly 8-9 years ago, Utopia Tree and Gemhide Sliver was there. Technically Gemhide Sliver is better than this one and it is a common. Two years ago Manaweft Sliver saw some standard play until Sylvan Caryatid and it is still better than this new card.
