The legend rule is a state based action and those are checked right before a player would get priority, even before any triggers waiting to be put on the stack are put there. So the duplicate legendary permanents are dealt with before you can even choose a target for the fight (you do that when putting the trigger on the stack). If the death of the legendary permanent causes a "dies" trigger, it joins the group of waiting triggers, so when the SBA checks are finished, it is among the triggers you can order as you see fit, so have it happen before or after the fight trigger. (Though the actual fight will only happen, if the legendary creature is still around to do the deed.)

So in short, first the ETB ability triggers, then the legendary creature dies, then you put the dies trigger and ETB trigger on the stack in the order of your choosing.

    Yeah thats what I thought.
Thanks for the clearn and concise answer!

So I had this position earlier in draft, where I could target a legendary creature on my own board with Mythos of Illuna, get a beneficial death trigger and a beneficial fight. However I did not want to risk the play due to me being unsure of the ordering what goes on the stack first.
In other words, if you target a legendary creature with Mythos of Illuna, and the spell resolves. What happens first?
    - Does the fight effect go onto the stack, after i keep the token and the legendary goes to the graveyard?
    - Do you have to choose which legendary creature to keep and does it go to the graveyard, and therefor triggering possible death triggers first?
    - Do they both happen at the same time, allowing me to order both effects on the stack?

For example if i target Anax, Hardened in the Forge with Mythos of Illuna after i put the original Anax in the graveyard will I be able to choose to put the satyr tokens and fight effect on the stack, or do they have a pre-determined order?

Thanks for any clear answers regarding this, most of the time I can figure out rulings by myself, but this is quite a rare situation. I expect it is the last option.

Am I the only one thinking that Rule of Law is an actual legit helluva reprint? Grin

I dont know what you mean with 'legit'?
It is probably one of the most obnoxious cards ever printed in magic thats for sure. Winter Orb, Stasis, Tanglewire, Smokestack all being close contenders though

the most disgusting example of power creep

Chillax man. Lightning Stormkin is nothing more than a decent limited card. I keep hearing people screaming from the rooftops about "power creep" with this set. Couldn't be further from the truth. If you want to see power creep, take a look at M11. Lightning Bolt, Preordain, Birds of Paradise, Baneslayer Angel and the Titans are all more powerful than ANYTHING in M20.

Mate, powercreep entails alot more than X card being alot more powerfull than Y in a vacuum, or its playability. We went from savana lions + Jackal pup to Dauntless bodyguard. Serra Angel to Baneslayer angel. Thats THE definition of powercreep, it doesnt matter if in the grand scheme of magic its balanced OR necessary OR even will see play. You have a certain template that is colour + P/T + additional abilities + rarity == CMC. When you have a vanilla creature that trumps all previous set standards that IS powercreep.
Now Goblin guide sees modern play and Mantis Rider sees modern play. This card is literally in between with two very relevant creature types.
If you think this is only limited viable than I honestly dont know what to say anymore.

the most disgusting example of power creep

Isn't that a bit over the top wave of vitriolic?

Though I appreciate the jest, no it isnt.
Of all the vanilla keywords, flying AND haste are far above the rest in value. Haste even more so than flying. Haste because it for all intents and purposes makes a creature cost 1 mana less, and flying because its the best form of evasion (unblockable is not really a vanilla keyword).
This is something R&D very well knows, and having either of the keywords will affect the CMC AND the rarity.

There have been 3 2/2 fliers printed for 2 cmc WITHOUT any drawback in the history of magic.
Gaea's Skyfolk is green and only has flying.
Azorius First-Wing pretty much is a 2/2 flier for all intents and purposes.
Sky Terror now this is the only card with multiple keywords AND printed very recently. However it has flying AND menace, which can almost read unblockable but not quite yet. They are 2 keywords that make eachother relatively redundant so to speak.

Now Goblin Guide is still a mainstay card in modern and even sees some fringe play in legacy goblins. It is THE de-facto card of how much creatures should cost. Even though the down-side is quite substantial if your opponent hits, the power of a 2/2 haste for 1 is so high, its downside doesnt matter.
There have been 0 cards that come even close to GG, aside from Monastery Swiftspear which is honestly a mistake on its own, but at least scales with the powerlevel of a format.

This is just pure and simple Powercreep, and not on a small scale.
Its the same as printing a 1 cmc watchwolf without drawback. It sets precedent for all other cards

Yup, this will get banned in some format at some point.

Why would this ever get banned?

You need a million hoops to jump through to break it and its 4 cmc.

Kinda silly that this card simply trumps Skyknight Legionnaire.
Dont know when UR got more efficient creatures than WR by an entire manacost, but here we are I guess.
1 more mana to remove the drawback from Goblin Guide and give it flying?

Plus it has 2 very relevant creature types.
This card will see constructed play 100%

    Edit
Actually the more I think about it, the more I realise this is one of the most disgusting examples of power creep we have witnessed yet.

Can we have Garruk back or is he not diverse enough?

Also, never forget the "outrage" sparked by activists who have nothing better to do with their lives than complaining about Garruk beating up a woman in a combat to the death.

Yeah, because when someone is trying to rot your flesh with black magic, you're going to hold back and save some face because you wouldn't want to hit the girl.

This bothers me. Why does gender matter in a multiverse of threats? You think I wouldn't punch Sheoldred in her big dumb head because she's a lady? People bother me.

It only starts to bother you now? It should have started to bother you the moment they even tried meddling into this nonsense.
The moment I tuned in to the mythic championships and I saw the caster duo:

A very small blond white woman and a very big black man. Ok guess we have all bases and ranges covered now, on to actually start watching some magic.

    That looks abusable.

So instead of saying first, you just say 3 words without any explanation?

Looks like a 4 cmc PW to me, that requires you to have a board presence when you play her. And if its an empty board she doesnt do anything.
'Her ultimate' is an interesting take, but abusable???

    4/10 Vivien

In what world would you not have a board for her??

Counters are bad because your opponents need spells!

Are you two siblings or kin?
It seems you two understand eachother but I can't for the love of me figure out what the two of you are trying to say.

Wizards just doesn't seem to learn that cost reduction is as broken as fast mana.

Turn 1 mana dork, turn 2 lingering souls, turn 3 flashback lingering souls cast this bam 7/7 flying lifelinker and your lingering souls are indestructible roadblocks.

MTGS forum posters still havent learned that three colour Goldfishing in Eternal formats, never is as broken as it looks in their mind's eye.

that art on the aura is a right-away contender for the worst of the last... 26 years.

You must have only played for a year i guess, some art has been truly horrendous.

Just go through antiquities, the dark, legends, or any of the really old sets.
I doubt this card will even make it in the top 500 worst art, maybe not even top 1000.

Some of these M20 cards feel more at home in modern horizons, than cards in modern horizons.
This is puuuussshed, also someone at R&D has the hots for lands in graveyards.

I believe this card initially saw play when Drogskol Captain was legal, giving you a 2 for 1 with a short clock.

However, after AVR I never saw this card in constructed again.

AVR gave us R&D's biggest mistake after phyrexian mana called miracles.
Playing a 'fair' creature deck wasnt feasible in a tournament where people can high roll bonfire or terminus on any turn of the game.
