Man, I have not even thought about modern knights in so long. After seeing the m19 knight, I thought I'd revisit my favorite knight version. I really wanted to include History, but needed room for my equips. I feel I should run Mirran Crusader instead of White Orchid, but then I think I'll need to change my mana base. Advice welcome.

Edit: Oh! I also thought about including Smuggler's Copter to help the draws.

I wonder how much better off the people on Amonkhet, Zendikar, Innistrad, Tarkir, Ixalan and Dominaria (among other planes influenced directly and indirectly by Bolas and Ugin) would have been if the hunters got to the twins.

Well the Eldrazi Titans would be ending planes unless some other Oldwalkers stepped up to stop them.
If so, then they're attracted to mana because the plane is leaking mana, like blood in the water.

This has actually been my pet theory for a whole while now, so I'm glad to see someone else coming to the same conclusion. It'd make sense too, they lured the Eldrazi to Zendikar by leaking mana through a beacon into the blind eternities, emulating a dying plane. Nahiri presumably did the same with Innistrad.
Yeah! This was my thought too, I even had a whole article on it that has now disappeared with a small article site. I'll see if I can wayback machine it.

    Edit: Here it is.

So both Tezzeret, Cruel Machinist and Tezzeret's Strider show Tezzeret somewhere on Esper.

Is he going back to Alara at some point, or is this just non-canon stuff?
I think that's just the planeswalker deck version, which looks like his Agent of Bolas era outfit, the art we've seen for the pack version has him looking more recent.

Im pretty curious now about how Bolas "arose" to planeswalker status. His flip card gives us nothing to go by unless just gaining mana allows you to spark. Did he defeat the Leviathan Planeswalker and steal his spark and Gem?? Does the gem itself grant planeswalker status and he found it somewhere??
The other flip walkers seems to flavorize their condition to flip based on their story of sparking but Bolas is just a mana cost. Seems odd.

If I'm not mistaken he literally deovured the leviathan.
Yeah, the bones are what formed the Talon Gates, which can be seen behind him in Nicol Bolas, the Arisen. It's the same scene as The Eldest Reborn.

Wasn't he reborn on Madara near the Talon gates? I wonder if that place will play a role for him again in the future (assuming he hopefully isn't killed by the younglings).

I did a recorded reading on the story and after hearing the story for hours, with several minutes per sentence, and it really struck me how many parallels they had between the sets of twins. If we decide to infer more about the dragons based on the inner thoughts of Naiva, we could conclude that Bolas likely cares about his people, but will abandon the closest family if it means survival. I am sure other people saw this immediately, but I have always been a Bolas supporter saying that he lost godhood and is freaking out trying to get it back. It isn't justified from our perspective, but it could easily be from his. I see his mindset closer to the eldrazi than ours. I don't think he sees (or at least saw, depending on how the story modifies him) what he does as anything other than necessary to regain his godhood.

On a related note, I am unsure if it is worth me continuing the recorded reading of the story. My goal is to show that the story is awesome to more people (even if it is only to my small channel). If anyone would like to give me some constructive criticism, I'd appreciate it as I decide what to do with it. Thanks. This is the video

    -Sigh-

    Return of the Pug.

I thought a large part of Bolas's appeal was supposed to be that he's, you know, a dragon. Not an orc. Not a gremlin. Not an ape. Flattening his face doesn't "humanize" him, it makes him look stupid.

That's a really solid and fun-looking card, though. But as a Vorthos, I can't get past that art. This current art direction needs to stop.

Best bolas art for me is the FTV creature one because he actually looks like a dragon. Behold my Grandeur and the Invocation Damnation are okay. The Archenemy Bolas planeswalker is also fiiiine. Really wish they stopped making him fugly. Hell, even the creature version here has a normal dragon face, yet (I assume) they told the artist to make him ugly in the walker part.

My main deck has been Zombies and I have no idea why people are sleeping on it. I have been doing pretty well in gold tier and quick constructed. I also have a Grixis Bolas deck, a Sultai Muldrotha deck, and a Saproling deck which is new enough that I have not settled on its colors. Zombies has a decent budget build, can be mono black, black-white, even blue-black, but I don't see as much love for zombies.
*Small self -promotion* Feel free to check out my Arena Videos.

I am disappointed by the return of support. Not having the ability to put the counter on the creature with it, plus the way they costed the cards last time left a sour taste in my mouth. We'll see if support gets the support it needs but I'm not holding my breath.

I was curious what length of MtG YouTube video people prefer watching. I am making content again thanks to MtG Arena and would like to get some info from a wider community. Personally I prefer hour long videos, but I watch YouTube at 2x speed so that probably skews my feelings. Thanks for the feedback.

Am I the only one who will be upset if Bolas is defeated even by a team of 20 walkers, most of whom would be new? He is the oldest, smartest, and strongest entity we know of, and to be beaten by people who collectively aren't even half his age seems ridiculous to me. The Phyrexian Threat has to be dealt with on a plane by plane basis because we don't know how many planes Karn tracked his oil-laden boots to. The Eldrazi are technically a single entity now contained, but we have yet to learn the ramifications of 2 dead, 1 imprisoned. Garruk and Ob are mere nuisances; one being a walker serial killer and the other being a conquest hungry warlord. Yet Bolas should be considered way more powerful than all of them, and easily at that. Ever since Alara block, I have worried that they turned Bolas from this *Evil because I don't care what happens to others but I want my god power back* into *I want to destroy worlds and twirl my moustache*. Obviously Wotc is being secretive about his end goal and if he is actually making all these moves in order to harness sparks and regain his godhead, then I would accept that, but you don't live and learn for as long as bolas has and die to some young adults; this isn't scooby doo..... at least I would like if it weren't.

I am not great with understanding this conlang transcription stuff, but I would like to incorporate the great phyrexian language into my youtube channel in some way; either hidden in thumbnails, as a part of my profile picture, or part of my end card. Since my sign off is already "all will be one" and I love the phyrexians enough that my strange pseudonym is modeled after them (don't tell the great Bolas), I thought it would be cool to mess around with the language. I have found that Wotc hasn't released the conlang which I understand is fully fleshed out by a professional. If someone could explain how to translate then write in it (if that'ss even possible), I'd really appreciate it.

As someone who loves Bolas but has hated the way he has been depicted since late Alara, I have to say I love this story and its depiction because it brought me back to the Bolas I remember from the Future sight book. Compare how he talked to the gatewatch to how he taunted Leshrac; he toyed with both of them and crushed their hope because he found it fun.

So I wonder what role "The Soul of the Plane," that we saw in the Nissa story, will have, if any.

I'm satisfied with the amount of effort it took to kill Razaketh, but I agree with others that it was a little too soon. Even shifting it to the third story would have been better, but maybe they just have so much story and so few articles to tell it with.

( possibly tinfoil hat area 51 stuff )Is it possible that the Chain Veil is the Mask of Nights Reach. The Mask of Night Reach was suppose to allow for all sorts of shenanigans with planeswalkers powers. If the veil is the Mask of Nights Reach it would have a connection to Bolas, and the other old planeswalkers.

I believe it is confirmed that the chain veil was created by the Onakke from shandalaar, while the mask of night's reach was the mask of the myojin of night's reach from kamigawa.

So they just edited out the very obvious romantically inclined question Chandra asked to Nissa with no comment.

That's honestly a pretty gross action and reeks of WOTC being afraid of people in the community like those crazy "cultural marxism"/"gay propaganda" conspiracy theorists. Choose your side WOTC. Either you fully accept people in the LGBTQ community and believe they deserve the spotlight just as much as everyone else or you don't. You can't just keep keep making token background LGBT characters for brownie points and act like that's progress. Actively censoring an author to take LGBT themes out is the opposite of progress and shows that you really do just want to keep sprinkling out token characters to keep heat off yourself in place of actually giving a care.

Could you be more specific? I read it right when it was put up, at least for me, and looked at it again after seeing this comment, but I couldn't spot a difference.
