UB can do so may things, but you make it mill? At least do something with the milling. Ugh.
Agreed, for sure.
I was hoping it would be the discard, draw version a few people talked about,
or perhaps making creatures weaker a la haunter of nightveil.
UB used to be one of my favorite color combinations but I only play EDH so mill more often helps people than hurts them :/
Mannnn an affordable stax-y card and they had to go and make it red
But yeah, this captures "god of slaughter" pretty well and it's something I didn't really expect out of RB so it gets a thumbs up from me
For everyone here that claims they don't like playing against cards like Grip of Chaos because they make the game too random, makes the game not fun, or because it stops your deck doing what you want it to do, I pose an examination.
.... Grip of Chaos does effectively the same thing that Humility does when used against control decks. It renders targeted spells and abilities almost entirely moot. The difference is, most people complain and moan when Grip hits the field. Arguably more effective at its job, Grip protects itself to a degree, by not allowing enchantment removal direct access to destroying it.
Why then, is one strategy that hoses another deck archetype heralded, and the other looked down upon?
Because Humility doesn't make every targeted effect take a significantly larger amount of time to resolve.
I (like some others in this thread) have learned that the best way to deal with Nekusar is to steal and/or copy him. Their deck is usually so focused and streamlined that they don't have a lot of defense.
Unfortunately, it looks like most decks will need to start packing some kind of game plan against getting wheeled to death as the general is super popular.
If I remember correctly, we do have Springleaf Drum. Fixer of the set. Though I'm not convinced of its usefulness unless we have some Lorwyn-esqe tapping shenanigans.
Or perhaps a 3rd Evolving Wilds variant? Possible because EDH (the big brother of casual formats) has gotten sooooo big.
(An aside, if you are playing three Evolving Wilds clones in your EDH deck you are doing it wrong...)
I would assume that the minor Gods would be distributed somewhat randomly, without landing too heavily on any one color, as the mythics in Theros didn't follow its scry lands exactly.

Maybe not as much as you think. In Ghave stax, obviously, I don't even notice but in Thassa if Mogis sticks it hurts pretty bad

1 Bloodghast
1 Grave Pact
1 Disciple of Bolas
and if you're into Stax...
1 Static Orb
1 Tangle Wire
1 Bitterblossom
EDIT: Bitterblossom kinda kills your budget but I promise it's worth it

Sydri, Galvanic Genius

Yeva, Nature's Herald
Thassa, God of the Sea
Gosh I'm kind of a jerk, huh?
