<Screw SCG. The same a-holes that bought up all the fetch lands and pushed how many people out of playing modern? Screw them, keep the cards and let them lose some money.> The cards you bought were jacked up in price anyways.

    Flaming warning. ~parinoid

Hey, why discuss a legacy deck in this thread?

UGT: Look at the top card of your library. If it is a land card, you may reveal it and put it into play tapped. Otherwise, you may draw it.

    As I said already:

Imagine you're playing UB Control in Standard, and you have 3 in your deck, and you never trigger miracle. Pretend you still cast one for 7 and kill your opponent with grave titan. Ok, 2 dead cards game 1, right?

The thing that is so great about this card is that, in every competitive matchup, we're bound to have a few dead or bad cards before or after sideboarding. This is a dead card that can be a Time Walk.

My question is, in UB Control, do you play Go for the Throat, or Temporal Mastery?

Which one has a bigger down side? Which has more upside?

    Thoughts?

To all you poor fools that don't see how good this card is:

Imagine they have 4 in their deck, and they never trigger miracle, and thus never cast this. Ok, 4 dead cards game 1, right?

What if they trigger miracle and in G2 get to Time Walk?

Would you be happy going to a tournament and letting your opponent sideboard in a Beta Time Walk for g2?

The thing that is so scary about this card is that, in every competitive matchup, we're bound to have a few dead or bad cards before or after sideboarding. This is a dead card that can be a Time Walk.

My question is, do you play Go for the Throat, or Temporal Mastery?

Which one has a bigger down side? Which has more upside?

This is a reprint of Timewalk. Who gives a sh.. about delver? What are the implications for Modern and Legacy? Seems pretty good in Limited, doesn't it?

If you say this card won't see much play, just quit magic right now and go back to playing pokemon. Also, you should probably never comment in a forum anywhere, anytime, for any reason.

I hope this means that Electrolyze, Lightning Helix, Mortify, and Putrefy will be in Avacyn Restored...but what about a Blue-Green card for the cycle? It could be Coiling Oracle or even Voidslime?

I've been testing Chancellor of the Dross in place of Grave Titan and I really think it is a great fit. I find myself losing to Wolf Run because I can't block an Inkmoth Nexus at some point.

The opening hand ability with Chancellor could also be relevant against RDW.

I think if we replace Grave Titan with Chancellor of the Dross and Nephalia Drownyard in favor of 4x Ghost Quarter we could get better results.

I'm going to try testing with only Chancellor of the Dross and Consecrated Sphinx, i.e. no Grave Titan or Wurmcoil Engine and see what happens. Anyone try something similar?

I highly, highly recommend testing Dispense Justice. I was only unhappy to see this card in hand when I drew two in my opening hand.

I cannot tell you how many times I was 'praying' to the flying spaghetti monster I would draw it.

Every time I drew it, the momentum swing was huge.

Nobody expects it. When I bring it to tournaments it is the card I try to hide from my opponents as much as possible. When I play it, my opponent usually has to read it, and say 'Really? I'm dead'.

    Quote from Dewman
Let's say you are running it. Approx 20 land, 4 idol, 4 mox, 4 Tempered Steel, 4 Dispatch, so 24 creatures.

24/60=2/5 so Lead the Stampede is.... divination?

Yes, I do agree with this. One way to mitigate this effect may be to cut it down to 3 moxes. I understand that you really want Mox Opal in your starting hand, but its legendary status causes problems.

Really, I'm looking for that elusive 60th card. The Channel Fireball build is so solid, but Mikaeus, the Lunarch just doesn't cut it.

After testing Lead the Stampede some more, I agree that it can definitely be hit-or miss. I've had instances where I've grabbed 4 creatures with it, and also instances where I've grabbed only 1.

It might be a good 60th card, but then that means you're probably running 4 Origin Spellbomb, which makes it worse than Divination

I think Origin Spellbomb is pretty good in this build, but about 40-60% of the time this card is so low-impact I feel like there must be a better replacement.

That being said, Channel Fireball probably would have found it if it existed.

I think I might try Forbidden Alchemy instead of Big Mike.

I just put together a deck that I've been testing on TappedOut. If interested, give it a try. It's called 'WUG Tempered Steel'.

And yeah, I see your point, but I tested this a few times, and Lead the Stampede is more than bonkers.

I would definitely fear losing some steel...

And not that it matters, but the cards go to the bottom of the deck.

I'm thinking about the 60th card in Channel Fireball's list.

As I mentioned in my previous thread about Dispense Justice, Conley Woods mentioned that he wasn't sure Mikaeus, the Lunarch is right.

I'm thinking about Lead the Stampede. It seems this would be nuts after you run out of gas around turn, *ehem* TWO?

But it can whiff and would greatly benefit from/require having Razorverge Thicket MB.

I find Origin Spellbomb incredibly underwhelming. At 2G, this is going to cost the same as dropping a spell bomb, activating it and 'kicking' the activation to draw a card in the same turn.

    Thoughts?

SO, I played at my local ISD Game Day in Bangkok this last Saturday (it was postponed until Dec 10th due to the severe flooding here).

Anyways, I couldn't decide between Kessig-Wolf Run, U/B Control and Tempered Steel. I played Tempered Steel because I didn't want to have any draws, and I've had a lot of experience winning with this deck.

I used the 2011 World's list by Channel Fireball with the following alteration: Instead of Mikaeus, the Lunarch as my 60th card (Conley Woods questioned its usefulness), I tried a single copy of Dispense Justice, thinking this might totally blow out Kessig...I also threw 2 more in the SB.

To my pleasant surprise, this card wrecked. I was fortunate enough to not have to play Kessig (probably our worst match up?) but when I drew it, this card wrecked every deck I played against. I went 4-1 and got 4th place out of 36 (basically the best players in Thailand, and much more competitive than GameDays I've played in the U.S.). My only loss was against Patrick Chapin's Grixis control list, which I went 1-2 against.

The best was when I had an opponent attack me with a Hero of Bladehold and Avacyn's Pilgrim. He went to put out his soldiers, but I said 'In response to the effect going on the stack, I'll dispense Justice both your guys'...it was all but game over after that.

I hate the 3 mana cost, but in my opinion, this card is a sleeper...Anyone ever try it?
