I agree. I see a lot of drafts taking place now, even though the season is still 3 1/2 weeks away. I've been a part of such drafts in the past... with a decent amount of cash on the line; always made me nervous waiting out those three weeks while there was still a big chunk of preseason games to go.

An hour before the draft starts, ESPN will randomize us in an order. So 1-8. You then pick in the order, but when reaching 8, they pick twice and everyone continues drafting in that reverse order. Same happens to 1. It looks like this

Gotcha. I guess I play in a meta where I can afford it to lose that as those types of things win games (Edric can potentially snowball if I let his cradle stay. Same goes for Volrath.)

Anyways, I see you cut Strip Mine in a sweeping cut, and wondering why? I know it gets you hurt with non-basic hate, but with things like Nykthos/Cabal/Cradle as must pop lands, the benefits should out weigh the downsides, right?
The major change from normal is how I do defense scoring. I did it last year and I dont believe I got any complaints. The key here is that with normal D/ST scoring, there are tiers where they will just lose points. With this, its more -x per point scored, -y for every yard allowed. In the end, it mainly drops a team or raises a team around 1 point per game. Really not that big so to say.
Dont worry, we have a few people dragging their feet in that regard. I caution you both to review the scoring though. There are no major changes per se, but a couple minor tweaks that may be important for if you're between a couple of players.
Ive sent some of the invites and only have one person locked in so far. Worst comes to worst, you'll replace someone who doesnt answer, or we'll have a 9 man.

I think qtip makes 8...... But I'll need to count that up at some point. Draft will be after the 4th preseason game, before the 1st game. You all know how I hate people to draft and Whoops, Your 1st or 2nd round guy is hurt (Jordy Nelson would of been an example last year.)
Yes, as you are searching for something with a certain quality. If you had cast a Demonic Tutor instead, you'd be forced to find something as your library has "cards" (If its empty, thats when you can "fail to find.)
I dont see anything wrong with your idea. And don't all abilities break a rule of magic (Haste breaks the "summoning sickness" rules.), so whats wrong with created abilities breaking the rules if they seem intuitive or the like?
