I posted this in the new card discussion thread, and I have no idea why it was closed. Anyways, magic general might be a little more appropriate for this.
If you've seen
Garruk
, you know that he
transforms after 1 damage.
I thought this was a little extreme/ridiculous, so I made a comic:
And then someone else in the thread made another comic:
I mean,
that's a pretty extreme change after just one damage.
I just have a question about entering a main phase. If my opponent says untap, upkeep, draw, and then uses Birthing Pod to sac a creature, can I say, "before your main phase, Dismember?"
I do realize that sacrificing their creature is a cost, and therefore paid as soon as he announces it, but my question is that, since he didn't announce that he was entering the main phase, can I say that I dismember before he enters his main phase?
I agree with everything Kijin has said in this thread thus far. You should feel as guilty about buying cards at a low price as a vendor should feel guilty about buying your cards at a low price. That's not to say that eye-for-an-eye is always a morally justifiable disposition, just that it's the vendor's job to recognize how volatile the MTG market is.
Now, if the store is struggling and has always given you great deals, you can reciprocate by notifying them when their prices are wrong. I'd help them out if they gave me great deals, but there is absolutely no moral obligation to do so.
It happens to everyone. My friend's trade box was stolen last week, too. $1500 worth of stuff, approximately. He worked hard for it.
I can't stress enough how vigilant one needs to be to prevent theft. I created a thread earlier showing a crazy experiment showing how little we notice, but it was closed because there were already like 5 threads about **** being stolen.
You need to put a lock on your backpack and tie it around your waist. There is no other way to guarantee that you won't have your **** stolen.
If you "fight" with a monster, first and double strike don't apply? Then it's not really a fight! The mechanic should be called something like "brawl" or something. The word "fight" just sounds like something a kid came up with.
Considering that the standard meta could be completely different from what it is now, it is really hard to speculate on which color combinations will go up or down. If you want to invest, I'd recommend things like birthing pod and molten-tail masticore, which have a low risk factor.
Since we learned to use the internet. I'm being serious; I never used to pay attention to prices until I learned of all of these internet sources and price guides. When that happens, you learn how much you've been ripped in the past. I gave away a Lion's Eye Diamond a few years ago because I didn't think it was playable.
I could go for something like this too. Really, anything at this point. I just want them to print official proxies, tournament-legal or otherwise!

Does anyone else think that transform is going to be incredibly difficult to pull off?
That, plus the stuff you can do on smartphones.
You're right; I guess it could be a red or a black counterspell.
They should make the world champs design a card for a specific color, and make the color different each year.
