I am aware I am talking to myself here since everyone left this subforum but just wanted to say that I won a tournament today with Naya Heroic.
BW Warriors, 2 Mardu Dragons and RDW. It was super fun and the deck is great.
This will be my choice for the last WMCQ (with 19 lands of course).

PatrickOnTheGo posted a message on [Primer] U/W/X Heroic Aggro@Ultra_Magnus: Infect for Modern and Logan's Mize's UW Heroic.... LOL we're playing the same decks hahahaPosted in: Standard Archives
Anyhoo; I've been farming FNMs the past 3 weeks with Logan Mize's list (w/o Hangarback Walkers); the only deck I am afraid to face is Abzan Rally since I had a bad experience with it and didn't have any cards to answer their sacrifice creatures. I couldn't find the Dromoka's Commands I needed to upgrade to Bant Heroic, but I think I should be fine. I'll be playing UW Heroic this weekend's WMCQ. Lots of people here play Mono Red; Ensoul and GR Devotion so I guess it's well-positioned.
I've been thinking about Raymond Tan's Rage Heroic list from the PT as well. (Maybe it's fate that I opened 3 Battlefield Forges from MTG Origins haha XD); I have two questions about it though:
1. How would you use Center Soul effectively? Is it good for the deck compared to other Heroic versions? :/
2. Is the Encase in Ice really necessary or just a metagame call? I want to squeeze a few more cards I liked from Logan Mize's list. :)) -

jonnnny posted a message on [Primer] InfectPosted in: Aggro & TempoQuote from dreamcaster »Hey all, new infect player still... a question on sequencing.
Say your opening hand has Inkmoth Nexus as the only Infect creature, and Noble Hierarch with land to play the Hierarch on T1.
Is the appropriate turn Inkmoth and pass? Or is it Land, Hierarch, pass, and T2 inkmoth?
I would play hierarch first.
1) inkmoth first lets you attack for 1 infect on turn 2 with no protection, getting you barely closer to winning. I wouldn't even attack with a naked inkmoth into open mana.
2) 3 mana on turn 2 enables something like drawing two +4+4 pumps on t2/t3 to swing for the win or even just drawing a wild defiance/monastery siege
3) it hides what you're playing and it will likely eat a removal spell if they have one

Golblin posted a message on Elemental Bond (Steam Community preview)Hmm....this could see play. But probably not, for the same reasons as Hardened Scales. Sure, drawing cards is more universally wanted than extra 1/1 counters, but at the same time, this costs three times the mana to still do nothing when it comes into play. Abzan decks still have access to Abzan Charm, Sultai decks have all the blue draw, and Temur decks have Temur Ascendancy to do more at the same cost. Maybe if mono-green comes back, and if it truly wants a card like this, this will see play, but I think it's just another case of being too slow and unimpactful the turn it is cast.Posted in: The Rumor Mill -

PatrickOnTheGo posted a message on [Primer] Infect4-1 in Swiss in today's PPTQ then tripped in the Quarterfinals. Shame, I wanted to have a reason to fly to Bangkok. :((Posted in: Aggro & Tempo
Round 1: Affinity 2-1. Game1 I got killed Turn3 by 2 pairs of scissors. G2 I held him with 3 Nature's Claim appearances. G3 he opened slow and Didn't have much to threatrn with.
Round 2: GW Hexproof 1-2. Lost Game1 in the stack wars when he had the last removal for my protection. G2 I won quickly. G3 I was able to threaten but was short on lands, didn't topdeck the Nexus I needed to pump for lethal.
Round 3: Abzan Midrange 2-1. Lost Game1 I forgot the details. G2 he died by Noble Hierarch c/o Wild Defiance. G3 he mulled to 5 and was stuck at 1 land for too long.
Round 4: Jund 2-0. Game 1 was grindy but managed to win, G2 he mulled to 6 but made a decision on Turn4 that costed him the game.
Round 5: Jund 2-0. Can't remember, games were quick.
Quarterfinals: 1-2 Wilted Abzan. G1 was too grindy; didn't draw enough blue mana sources early to finish the game quickly. Game 2 managed a last turn win; hand was really slow at 3 Inkmoths and 2 Lands. Game3 didn't draw ANY OF MY 4 DISMEMBERS TO DEAL WITH DAT TURN2 SPELLSKITE BLOCKING MY 5 PUMPSPELLS. XC Also realized how annoying boarding spot removal in when 2 copies of Lingering Souls have blocked me all my games. -

asrttyoxo posted a message on Magic Origins Basic LandsIn my baseless speculation thread, I approach the topic of full art basics. I think it would be pretty awesome to close out the last coreset with 2 full arts from each plane.Posted in: Speculation
Can you imagine if there was 2 full arts for each of the following
White - Theros
White - Bant
Blue - Vryn
Blue - Ravnica
Black - Dominara
Black - Innistrad
Red - Kaladesh
Red - Regatha
Green - Zendikar
Green - Lorwyn

PatrickOnTheGo posted a message on [Primer] InfectActually, OlleR on MTGO has the same 74-card list as I do, and he opted for 1 Dismember over Dryad Arbor in the maindeck... so that says something. Thanks so much! I tried synchronizing your suggestions with Tom Ross's SB Guide from SCG, and I have concluded that I will try the following SB modifications:Posted in: Aggro & Tempo
-3 Twisted Image
+3rd and 4th Dismember
+2nd Dispel
I'll be losing some game against Affinity, but it's okay since they aren't that prominent around here. Will try out these modifications on the coming GPT Singapore this Friday and Saturday (even if I already have two byes HAHA) Thanks again! -

The judge ruled that this was drawing extra cards and issued a game loss.
My issue with this is the card was allowed to be looked at by the player according to Domri Rade's first ability, so the player had no additional information, as would be the case if they drew an extra card. Also the card had been revealed to the opponent so they knew which card had been placed into the player's hand. Also the player was obviously not trying to cheat as they immediately informed their opponent and called a judge.
It seems to me that no advantage was gained by the player and he was clearly not trying to cheat and therefore a game warning would have been more appropriate. However I would like to find out what the official ruling should be for this situation.
Thanks.

I run 2 Maelstrom Pulse sideboard to deal with Gideon Jura. Of course you can catch it with Thoughtseize, but I like having a way to remove it if I miss.
