CardboardCrack posted a message on MTG players laughed at from GP richmondI've gotten a ton of emails asking when I'm doing a comic on this topic, and really I don't want to draw any more attention to it than there already is.Posted in: Magic General
The community is growing at a phenomenal rate. Modern is exploding. There might be a movie coming in the future. It's time for us as a community to level up instead of doing this kind of crap. -

DrWorm posted a message on MTG players laughed at from GP richmondI think this is in terrible taste, and is mocking the player base in a very mean-spirited way. It also presents a VERY skewed representation of the player-base since it is a very small percentage of players yet this will be used for years as an example of why people stay away from magic players. It is an attempt at mocking at the expense of others by a large neck-beard poster boy who seeks to buoy his self esteem by taking down others in secret.Posted in: Magic General -

Bread Connoisseur posted a message on MTG players laughed at from GP richmondDamn disgusting. The guy who did this is a jerk, end of story. If you have the nerve to do this...if I was in any of those pictures I would take legal action against the guy in all likelihood. Make him pay and hopefully learn from this mistake. Hope WotC bans the guy for life from hosting tournaments or participating in tournaments ever again.Posted in: Magic General -

Gentlemen_Minotaur posted a message on MTG players laughed at from GP richmondSuch poor taste from whoever decided to make this their mission. Besides, I find it quiet queer* to be actually looking for another gentleman's posterior and taking photos of that same gentleman's posterior. I wonder to myself if this can be considered an invasion of an-others privacy if the fellows did not have permission to be taking these photos from the various gentlemen in the pictures.Posted in: Magic General
Queer
1) strange or odd from a conventional viewpoint; unusually different; singular: a queer notion of justice.
2) of a questionable nature or character; suspicious; shady: Something queer about the language of the prospectus kept investors away.

avenged492 posted a message on MTG players laughed at from GP richmondHow about we stop supporting the kid who clearly did this as an insult to those players. There were 4301 people at Richmond and you are telling me he got a handful of ass crack pictures? Welcome to the general populace.Posted in: Magic General
This kid will get his punishment and has been looked down upon by Pros and Wizards alike so lets just do a better job of bring attention to the people instead of insulting them in front of the internet. -

Guys
I heard that WotC is going to be combining artifact and creature on cards now.
That's just lazy design! I mean, artifacts don't move—they're immobile, non-living physical objects, whereas creatures are moving and alive and stuff.
This sort of mixing of types is stupid and unacceptable and everyone on WotC's design team should be forced to listen to people rubbing Styrofoam blocks together. -

Canadian Guy of Wrath posted a message on [[M14]] Return of SliversPosted in: The Rumor MillQuote from FieryBalrogYou have very, very low Standards for WOTC, don't you? You're writing furious apologetics in every thread I see you in.
The guy says "giving them humanoid shapes kills the concept of hive-mind"
He's wrong
It kills his conception of Sliver hive-mind because it was entirely based on what Slivers were back in the day and clearly he has never considered the possibility that they could evolve
If pointing out flaws in an argument is being apologetic for someone else's evolution of their own creation then sure, I have very low standards for WotC; whatever makes you feel any better about people who **** and moan about everything I guess.
WotC felt that simply going with the old visual design wasn't a good idea and went with this. You can not like it, that's fine; I just don't like it when people come up with stuff that doesn't make any sense whatsoever in an attempt to rationalize their dislike. -

lynnalynn posted a message on [[M14]] Return of SliversPosted in: The Rumor MillQuote from sonofstevDo you have a large version? I can't read it.
unfortunately no...sorry. I didn't think that it was going to turn out that...tiny at 1024 pixels tall/400 pixels wide. Sorry, mistake on my part.
Basically it breaks down showing the similarities between the "larval" slivers and the discerning slivers. many of the similarities are extremely present among them, one even has the old claw and it's other arm is still growing (the red one that is standing to attack) that one also shows a more discerning (sorry, hate reusing words in the same paragraph) stance vs a flight or fight stance, showing an increase in individual intelligence. The larval haster and the discerning haster both look very similar, though the discerning has the growth of true limbs and a more solid bone structure, elongation of the spines in back into full formed tendrils, and a thinning of the carapace on the head.
The green discerning looks much like the magma sliver in it's quadrupedal form though taking a more simian approach to it due to region/location.
I also had compared lymph sliver and the red metallic looking sliver to the sentinel sliver, showing how lymphs and sentinels lower body were sat as a defensive mechanism to stabilize it as it holds it's ground, and the shiny one showing that the new sliver's silvery skin isn't new.
The most humanoid one I had shown a couple of slivers taking a human battlestance even in there larval form.
and the four armed one vs the two-headed sliver, showing that the twoheaded sliver not only took an arachnid like form (as was needed by it's adaptation, though comparing apples and oranges on this one, just showing the variety of evolutions here) but also the pressence of multiple limbs to fit it's need.
As I said, quick comparison, I could of broken it down better if I wasn't in a hurry
EDIT: I'd like to agree with canadian guy of wrath too, the old design had to be updated. I personally hated the old design and feel that they had better grasped what they could become now.

Didn't the article with the first dragons spoiler mention something about this having the highest dragon per pack ratio ever? Hopefully that means some cheap good dragons
