well, we get an update in a week right?

I've been looking at the banned/restricted list timeline and they usually do the announcements on March, June, September and December. I think an update is gonna be coming soon.

Pod doesn't seem very strong atm, It isn't even putting that many results up on MTGO. I like to look at MTGO results on the website, and i've only seen 3 to 4 4-0s by pod lists in the past week; it wasn't even in the top 8 of the Modern premier played monday, and those are very competitive. It may have won the GP, but the metagame is still fluxuating imo.

I agree that it's not a problem right now but it's probably inevitable that it will get banned someday. Someone posted in the older thread that it's a card advantage engine, it ignores mana costs, and the ability basically can't be countered except by Stifle-like effects.

I could see jund and junk running a few copies of ooze to help out against the melira pod match-up. The other tier 1 decks that run green like scapeshift and tron probably won't. Just speculation but i do see it turning out that way.

I'm running a mono-white lifegain aggro so it should be no surprise that I love Ajani's Pridemate. For an aggressive WW, I don't think you can go wrong with War Priest of Thune. I'm running Leonin Relic-Warder mainboard and the only problem I get when using it is that 1. it's a removal magnet, and 2. you can't really beat with it since the exiled artifact or enchantment returns to the battlefield when it leaves play. For the War Priest, once it goes down, the threat is dealt with, and the 2/2 body can still beat.

I have several questions regarding Brave the Elements, and protection in general. If this has already been asked before, I apologize in advance. I was looking in the more recent posts in the forum regarding protection and I wasn't able to find a thread answering my questions.

    1. Let's say that I have 2 Kor Firewalkers in play, and my opponent has a Grave Titan and 2 Zombie tokens. During his turn, my opponent plays a Journey to Nowhere. In response, I play Brave the Elements. What would happen? Would my opponent have to choose one of his creatures since all my creatures have protection? Or would the ability just fizzle out due to having an invalid target?

    2. I attack with my 2 Kor Firewalkers, and my opponent chump blocks with his 2 tokens. In response, I play Brave the Elements. What would happen? Would my creatures become blocked, and they survive due to protection from black? Or would his creatures, due to the protection of my Kor Firewalkers, become invalid blockers, and I'd be able to swing for 4?

    Thanks in advance guys!

You need card tags in future posts. Read the Forum Guidelines. -Carsten
