hey y'all! as salvation is closing soon, I figured it would be a good idea to try and recruit any that are not in the discord channel yet to come on over! link below:
How do y'all keep track of spells played before you even get to Aetherflux Reservoir? Say you're looping and after 5-6 draws, you get to the reservoir and then cast it (with floating mana) and now you're gaining massive life with each cast trigger. Is it assumed like a storm count IRL then? Keep track of that like you're keeping track of mana?
i've been asked to take back the primer, and have agreed to do so. I'd like to take this opportunity to thank Xenob8 deeply for his efforts and enthusiasm while shepherding the primer over the last few months. He's a real stand-up dude and we owe him our thanks.
(he isn't disappearing, just wanted to take back some time and that's perfectly reasonable)
on behalf of everyone here, thanks bud!
On the April 16th episode of First Strike Podcast pro player Shaheen Soorani (who played KCI at the recent PT) stated that The Antiquities War is going to be a very solid inclusion in this deck; a 1-card combo from the sideboard that will push this over the top vs RIP & Stony Silence.
Watching the win-and-in for GP Hartford (Time Walk edition https://www.twitch.tv/videos/250633784?t=08h00m00s) makes me wonder if 1x spellbomb should just be 1x grapeshot (or Bitter Ordeal )? I get that during the combo a single grapeshot doesnt do anything, but it could also end the game much earlier than trying to explain the "loop" and then playing it out to someone that's going to make you grind it out.
As for more Nature's Claim style effects, I was thinking Natural State is probably ok enough to include 1-3 of.? It hits all but the Leylines that are relevant hate to this deck. Maybe even Fragmentize?
I saw a few pages back that the deck doesnt really want any more 4cmc cards other than KCI but have people thought about looping in something like Goblin Boom Keg, Pierce Strider, Frogmite or even a Hedron Archive? Is it the 4-drop that we would want to look for or a 3-drop?
To that point, why not Sculpting Steel?
Anyone else try lodestone golem in the board to combat storm? I'm currently on the just go off before them plan but there are two storm players at my LGS now and looking into ways to hedge against them. ~10-15 players a night. Getting down Lodestone on turn three and then comboing on 4 seems like it would work.
Vs storm, isn't Damping Sphere just going to be the best thing we can do? It's an artifact which can be sac'd (eventually) and slows them WAY down on turn 2-? until KCI has the chance to get it's pieces together. Just a thought, at least.
I'm pretty sure I understand the "loop", just wondering if anyone has already explained it in previous pages? If not, is someone able to run through the required steps that should suffice for a demonstrated loop?
lurker for some time, first time poster to this thread. did a brief search and couldnt find an answer, so here's my question:
are 3x gemstone caverns really needed? primary reason for the question is because i currently only have 2 and dont really want to pop for a 3rd immediately. secondary reason is because its legendary, and we rarely (never?) want to see the second. i get that you powder them away from time-to-time, but thats probably less relevant than drawing the 2nd or 3rd during a match.
thoughts?

yea doc! watched the last 2 matches live and was really sweet because his round 3 opponent was also streaming so i was able to watch both sides of the match.
you should totally come into the discord! we have peeps all over the world; lots in EU. even to read the posts and get quicker feedback on ideas. Since necro started it, there have been fewer posts here as we're heading over there more. at least join up and say "hey!"
what is the general agreement on remand right now? i remember that not long ago, it was that with all the cheap stuff going around it wasn't really relevant...
and one more question, i understand we use minamo to get an extra use of mikokoro, but what's the use of Oboro?
remand is still one of those cards that people either love or hate. Right now I'm completely off it, but very much considering putting it back in.
Oboro and minamo are actually to add U in the case of choke or boil.
I'm new to discord, and wondering what the purpose is to have everyone post there, rather than here? If you miss a few days worth of posts on there, you could have to scroll for a while to get caught up, correct? On here it's pretty easy to find where you were last. Maybe I'm completely a noob and need some education of the discord interface 😎
