My build. Runs a lot like how this deck type was intended. I added Adventuring Gear and fetchlands as I think that's a good way to maximize an otherwise crappy land draw in a critical turn.
SB Silence stops Sorcery speed removal... T2 Pyroclasm/Ratchet Bomb...T3/4 Day of Judgment... also good at giving turn advantage against other aggro. I was thinking the removal spell that kills an artifact at instant speed and gives you life, but I forgot it's name. I wrote Revoke Existence instead.
It looks good, but I don't realy like Soliton. I think you could swap him out for another Darkslick Shores instead, and have a more consistent manabase. Also, I don't like the idea of relying on Mox Opal to get Kuldotha Phoenix out. One Creeping Corrosion ruins your fun as far as that is concerned.
Riddlesmith is how I get Kuldotha Phoenix out. Draw a card, discard Phoenix then it only cost 4 colorless to put into the battlefield. The single Soliton is there just for another card to discard, helps the welder work a little faster.
Riddlesmith puts selective cards that are synergetic with the Myr Welder into my graveyard: Kuldutha Forgemaster, extra Mox Opal, Soliton, Ratchet Bomb (perferably cast/bomb/then weld), Sphere of the Suns. Kuldotha Phoenix is also a graveyard pet.
Memnite, Riddlesmith, Ratchetbomb are quick casts that can disrupt aggro tempo. Myr Welder can bring back a ratchet bomb and knock off the second wave of aggro as well if needed.
First off I have seen UB Tezzert Control, and Myr Welder combo. Both decks seem pretty fun to play, but lack a little something in my opinion. I designed Tezzert's Myr in an effort to speed the deck up while maintaining the same sort of fun manipulative play style.
The "God Draw" of this deck would be something along the lines of:
Darkslick Shores, Memnite, Kuldotha Forgemaster, Mox Opal, Inkmoth Nexus, Myr Welder, Riddlesmith.
T1: Darkslick Shores, Memnite
T2: Inkmoth Nexus, Riddlesmith, Mox Opal, Draw then discard Kuldotha Forgemaster, play another Memnite if draw Soliton, Kuldotha Forgemaster, Kuldotha Phoenix, or Mox Opal.
T3: Myr Welder, or Phoenix, or whatever.
Anyways here is the deck I am developing so far, please add comments, critisms, and suggestions.
Game2: 1-2 Against some Infect Artifact destroy deck. The 2 games i lost, i drew 1 land one game and the other i only drew 3 creatures.
Top8
Game5: 2-0 G/W Infect artifact destroy again. This time i got what i needed to win.
LOL! That was me, what's the chance? I'm not going to lie, his deck is scary good. The only thing that saved me the first match up if I had enough kill artifact cards in my hand to match his low draw of creatures. When I saw I had to play him in the top 8, I was pissed I gave my round 4 game a draw instead of beating her. I was stupid for risking matching up with him again. GG man, I'll be back in two weeks with something else.
In that tournament I went: 2-1 against some sort of planeswalker deck, 2-1 against the deck in this thread, 2-0 against a poison deck, then agreed to draw against Myr combo so I could have a smoke break and still make top 8, then lost 0-2 against this deck.
EDIT: You know how you always get unlucky in packs? I just pulled a foil Tezzeret, Agent of Bolas lol.
