...oh come now. The name says it all. Its name is sooo close to nantuko shade that it must be. Although, I could see it pumping insects and not just itself, that would be an interesting take. Shade is more popular and iconic of a card, why wouldn't they do a card that references it!? I don't see any other cardnames that would resemble the shade so I speculate based on the name that this is a shade influenced card for green.
That is, unless shade is a purple riprint! whoo hoo!
Well, if these were on MTGO then maybe they will be released online only. I don't believe the reserved list has anything to do with online since they technically are not 'printing' these new cards in any physical sense. So, I could see them releasing cards online just so peeps could play with them.
Magus of the disk 2WW
creature - human wizard 1T:Destroy all artifacts, creatures, and enchantments.

Slap some sort of regeneration on this dude and go to town. Obviously the most powerful one unless the jar or candelabra magus gives rise to some obscene fast combo. Anything stronger then 1/1 is just gravey and will definately be worth it.
Also works very well with ghost away, for 4 mana basically one sided wrath pluss get rid of enchantments and artifacts. Nice.
If it was the only available in the 5th booster theory, I personally would be pretty pissed. I've already pre-ordered a case of Tournament decks for personal use. 5400 cards and no reprints! That's a severe case of cursing waiting to happen. Selfish reasons aside, I still don't think it'd be the best idea. What would keep a person from buying all the reprint boosters from a box? From a retailer's POV that sucks. I have to crack another box just to have reprint boosters for the next customer and that's just not good for business. I don't want to bust units that I could move easier if they were sealed. Even if I make a better margin on the individual packs, the sealed box is how I'd prefer to move them because less time is invested.
Unless, of course, the 'reprint' packs are randomly hidden/inserted/included in the box, which would be very, very strange indeed.
Well, if that is the case then the only people that this symbol would effect (play wise) are people new to the set that are drafting it. Also it would only effect them significantly if they recieved a purple card to choose from their 4th and over pick since they could decipher easily by the number of other rarities present in the pack. That is pretty narrow unless they really do a number and replace multiple cards of different rarities in each pack.
In either case I don't think it's a good idea since differing purple rarities WILL cause a lot of confussion and lots of frustration with newer players. One of my more negative memories of the game was the inability to tell what rarity my cards where and ending up trading them or TREATING them as commons. For people with larger collections of the new cards it becomes more time consuming and frustrating to seperate and organize your collection.
That is a lot of negatives for a very narrow nastolgic touch that isn't even remembered fondly to the best of my memory.
However, I could see them bunching all the purple cards into one 'mystery goody' pack. That would deffinately be interesting enough to jump over the negatives discussed above because I've always thought it would be awsome to open a 'goody' pack that was totally different from the normal packs.
What if all the purple cards were bunched up into the booster pack with akroma (or some other reprint art) on the front? That would be very very strange indeed since they all have differing rarities but only one symbol color. So it would be like getting a pack of all semi-uncomons.
However, I think it will probably be more along the lines of 1 additional card per pack or taking up a common slot.
It will definately not replace a random rarity slot because that would assume that the purple cards would have corresponding rarities of which they could replace. This would be hard to understand for new players since they might not have seen the older versions and know the rarity. If it replaces any card it will be rare and act as a super rare or a common and act as a 2nd rare.
I like the 2nd rare idea since it lessens the impact of you opening up a pack and getting a jank rare. This makes it much more appealing to buy packs in general so it gets my ok.
My thoughts on the subject are that there are defenately going to be powerful colored cards printed with suspend and not the moxen. I'll have to agree that they will probably be similar suspend costs + time of really powerful cards from the past. They will all probably have costs and time that total up to being played by turn 8 or something similar. Also, I believe that they all will be powerfull 'balance' type cards from the past but be totally different becuase the apponent will see them coming.
Well, the orb reveals 14 aurochs in coldsnap. Could this be a cycle and result in every color getting their own special auroch? The total number is a bit odd so I doubt they are going to resemble the normal templating from ice age. Any Ideas? I think there will definately be one for each color and they will be snow creatures.

I thought replicate was rumored to mainly be on creatures? Taking a look at the Izzit guildmage the guild obviously has something to do with copying spells as its theme.
What if Replicate was just a creatue ability that reads, Sacrifice this creature to copy a spell with the same CMC as this creature? That makes Replicate a little more relevent in games and really tricky.

It's fun, but I'm afraid it would need "The legend rule does not apply to creatures" tagged on, to make sure Green cannot use it as a Wrath.
And that would make the card somewhat clunky ...
Naw, All you would have to change would be to make only your creatures copy of enchanted creature. That way, if you do copy a legend you only wrath yourself and one of their guys.

The angel and the blue izzit lookin guy on the booster both look nice. However, the other two are...well, they look very weird and yucky. The first pack looks like a statue of a humanoid figure with a video screen for a head. My bet would be on this one being linked to the orchov. The second could be a creature/elemental but looks more like a land that turns into a critter or a spell that animates a land. Initially I thought this would definately be associated with the gruul but on closer inspection it has some similarities with the first booster...notabley the green glow in its eyes. So my bet is that the first two are orchov and the last pack is linked with izzit.
Edit: Did anyone catch the changes to the angel art? It was lightened up considerably and the eyes are now black instead of white. Just thought I'd mention it.
