Why lightning bolt doesn't do damage to it since it's the bolt that does the damage and not the player? Can it be targeted by planeswalkers? Why it can't be blocked by creatures since it doesn't have protection against them? Why is it called Identity Nemesis? It's the kind of name i would expect for a shapeshifter.
Also this Heroic thing it's just another disappointing built around ability to me.
Why can't they just print more merfolks that are good by themselves or along other merfolks? I'm tired of the same creature base for legacy merfolks: 4 Cursecatcher, 4 Silvergil Adept, 4 Lord of Atlantis, 4 Master of the Pearl Trident, 4 Merrow Reejerey, 2-4 Coralhelm Commander. Nothing really FRESH have been printed in a long while to give us more options when it comes to creatures.
I bet that by the end of the whole block only two creatures will make good use of heroic and bestow, the whole rest being overcosted crap or forgetable standard fodder.
In the whole 274 cards i only like 8:
Deathrite Shaman
Abrupt Decay
Lyev Skyknight
Supreme Verdict
Dryad Militant
Ash Zealot
Rogue's Passage
Chromatic Lantern
New Niv is much better than the old one. Dracogenius can draw cards attacking, and can use it's ability more than one time a turn without other support cards. The old Niv needed to tap, was 4/4 and didn't much by itself. With the new you can attack, draw a card then use it's ability to draw more three cards. It's 8 damage and four cards the turn next after you play him, without any other cards. The old Niv could alone at most deal 1 damage from your card draw then tap to draw another then deal one damage.
Old Niv
2 damage, draw one card
New Niv
5 damage, draw three, four cards
The dracogenius is much better by itself than the old Firemind. The Old one it's only better as combo piece or in a deck built around him. Look at the titans, it's clear that cards that are good by itselves have more value in a competitive environment.
Shouldn't goblins be too idiot to becomes good mages? Even in the Izzet guild they look more like a joke, as you can see in the Goblin Flectomancer card, seems out of flavor to me. Izzet charm is great but Street Spasm overload cost it's too expensive, you need to pay at least 6 mana for it to do 2 damage to each nonflying creature you don't control.
