We could get new 1/2 half cycle land like enters tapped unless you reveal vampire, demon, zombie etc.
But I would prefer enemy fetchlands or enemy battlelands.
That would be rather interesting if we got some lands like the Lorwyn "creature type" lands, just to fill in the other color combos, although some would match ones we already have.
Some people just don't know economics in here. You think Magic is bad with pricing? Look at Yu-Gi-Oh. That game is terrible for long term value. Trust me, I know. This isn't mythic not only to sell packs but to protect limited and to protect the complexity of what a mythic is. Imagine cards like Day's Undoing, Dragonlord Ojutai or Undergrowth Champion at rare for limited? Just stupid.
As a financial economics major who plays standard, I'm prepared to invest in this game for personal utility and a chance to have an actual collection of cards worth something in the future.
I don't think Undergrowth Champion would have been all that incredible in limited at rare. Champion you can see at rare going all the way back to Judgement with the Phantoms and how hard they were to kill, especially when you had practically any enchantment on them or on the field boosting their toughness at the very least. Phantom Nishoba would still easily be rare nowadays. If that is the case than all the Phantoms would be rare or higher by today's standards.
I totally didn't even think that with the new DFC transform rules I don't have to worry about anything with double strike with Elbrus, the Binding Blade/Withengar Unbound making it do nothing.
You wouldn't have to worry about that in the first place. When the equipped creature deals combat damage in the first strike step, Elbrus triggers and flips, and thus is no longer attached when the creature deals damage in the regular combat step.
Huh, I could've sworn I read the ruling hear that it wouldn't flip at all. Oh well, guess you learn something new about your failures every day.

The kraken that Thing in the Ice turns into looks like if a Theros kraken go infused with some C'thulu.
That vampire is incredibly awesome, only based on flavor. Who hasn't had a vampire turn to mist in D&D and it was impossible to kill after?
Magnifying Glass is pretty insane for a mana rock. It practically says "6 Tap : Draw a card" or you can fill up on clues, for some reason, and use it for mana to crack the clues. I imagine control decks might like it, if they can use it.
The normal art for Mindwrack Demon is much better to the DD one.
The art on Soul Swallower is pretty cool, and it is a decent limited creature, maybe good in Standard, but I highly doubt that.
Warped Landscape is a great take on Evolving Wilds, has a use in case you may not have anymore basic lands left. Looks like Nahiri is using the cryptoliths, or created them or both, for something.
I would really like -1/-1 counters right now. The last couple of blocks just had gradually worsening +1/+1 counter mechanics. Honestly I kind of forgot that there was even the option to not have a mechanic with those counters in the block, although could still be used. I would be all for that.
You want a Judge Foil Genesis Hydra? Ugh, I'm still trying to offload mine. I had ordered a Genesis a while back and they shipped me the damned hydra instead. I got it all sorted out in the end though. Suppose the hydra is shiny and all, but useless to me...
Genesis Hydra is at least a bit more useful than the other two, but really I just wanted to see something different for once, although I can still find Journey into Nyx and Born of the Gods at my Wal-Mart, so what can you do?
waaay too good for standard nowadays according to wotc, we all know that in reality. In other news, it's once again confirmed that, no matter how powerful a creature in magic is, a planeswalker can handle it without breaking a sweat. There's just no suspense in storytelling here, everyone is superman, overcoming any challenge thrown at them with ease. Poor avacyn, I hope there's still some hope left for the Angel of hope. Artwork is phenomenal imo, unreal even compared to the bfz trash.
To be fair Sorin did make Avacyn, so it wouldn't be too much of a stretch to figure he knows how to undo her, or knows of any weaknesses she may have.
I find it interesting that Sorin is looking away as he does this, perhaps either because he can't bare the sight of seeing it or he is disappointed at Avacyn, possibly both.

I'm still waiting for a black Day of Judgement before a reprint of Damnation.
