To me this is definitely not Sorin's Vengeance. Control probably won't want this, if aggro and midrange is fast enough, and with aggro and midrange beating on each other it's pretty risky to have a burn spell that also hits you for over a third of your life. As a board wipe this is only okay and as a way to discard this is only okay at it.
I could easily be wrong about this card, but it doesn't seem all that great.

If you have time to take a picture you have time to make sure it doesn't look like you are sprinting past it while taking said picture. Its cardboard, not some sort of spooked bigfoot.
I can agree with the irritation I don't see much of a reason to fake a card like this, it's an incredibly safe card with very little going for it.
Speaking of which this being like a worse Command that they bumped up to mythic for some reason. Perhaps if you could choose two modes when you cast it for its Spectacle cost this would be neat, but this just seems like an incredibly safe, and worse, Command.

Disallow was printed not so long time ago.
I know, gold spells look cooler.
I love absorb in standard. I saw this card likr a year ago and thought "why cant we have this in standard?". Well, here we go!
While it's true Disallow wasn't that long ago Voidslime really should have seen a reprint by now.

So, Wizards don't balance colours correctly, and people have an issue with it.
Wizards tries to balance colours properly, and tells people that they're doing it due to a busted 'walker, and people have an issue with it?
They're condemned either way.
Or...and this might sound crazy, so stay with me, but those might be different groups of people and the old adage of "you can't make everyone happy" applies.

It reminds me of Return to Dust. I'd certainly enjoy a reprint of that with new art.

Explore has a completely different function.
It allows you to PLAY an additional land.
This new cards PUTS the land into play.
That is massively better. You can't EOT explore and drop an additional land. But you sure can with the simic one.
The difference between Explore and this is so minor they might as well be the same card. Dropping a land on your opponents turn only helps landfall triggers and little to nothing else. In the end you will still have 4 lands on turn 3. Sure with this you can leave up your mana for a potential counterspell, but really this card does about as much as Explore.
Dec 15, 2018Firewheeler feels like the new Flametongue Kavu, lots of two toughness creatures to hit.Posted in: The Rumor Mill
The Haunt is not bad, in fact it might be really good. The fact it grows as cards are played from your opponent, grows when attacking, and has lifelink means it is a must kill creature before long.
Growth Spiral is just Explore.
Mortify is always a good reprint.
Simic Ascendancy is great in commander, a way to pump up creatures while being an alternate win con itself is a nice double threat.

This might surprise you, but having criticisms isn't automatically being upset. You're the one that seems to believe that this set is perfect, nothing is wrong with it, and that there can be no criticisms, else there is something wrong with those that do.

I guess it’s whatever. Lots of people expect something for nothing. I’ve based my life around the 1st law of physics. Anything fun costs at least $8.
Oh hold one, I actually have something for this.
Quote from Buffsam89 »Hyperbole alert!
A good thing you took care of your own argument. No one is asking something for nothing. I've seen scarecrows that are less strawman than that argument.
Quote from vandertroll »Jeez.. Running, swimming, reading books, acting, are all hobbies that are much cheaper than MtG, but what's the point in this anyway?
That all depends. Running is fairly cheap, swimming can become more costly than casual Magic spending depending on where you do it at, reading can be more expensive if you buy the books and read them fairly quickly, and acting sure is rather expensive as no one acts casually and you need things like headshots, acting classes, voice classes, and more to get parts in plays/movies.

It could be because the words you write are antagonistic, dismissive, insulting, and generally negative in tone, with no regards for how amazing this set is, how many high value cards are included (unprecedented), and how much it has helped drop the prices of literally every inclusion.
Oh no? So your entire issue is me having a different opinion and that it's a negative one? That's.....not an issue. If you get upset that someone else has a different opinion then there's nothing that can be done. Perhaps you'll learn to accept that in due time.
You are laser-focused on the fact that "the packs cost $14," yet, A) Nobody is paying $14 for them.
You're right, they're paying over $12, which by the way I posted and you ignored completely choosing instead to ignore and falsely stating that folks are paying $10 per pack. I focus on the $14 because that is what WotC put it at, and that was a stupid decision to do so. Just because people are not paying that doesn't mean I ignore it. Burn ointment exists, but I don't ignore when someone drunkenly jumps into a bonfire. I tell them they were incredibly stupid and not cheer them on.
But please, stay focused on the thing that doesn't matter, on the price that people aren't paying, for the packs that you aren't buying, while you get to enjoy all the price drops anyway.
How can I enjoy it? You said I don't deserve to have a hobby because I'm poor. Forgetting your own argument eh?
