I have always wondered about the more crazy reasons why people would get banned. I know people get banned for obvious typed of cheating, like drawing extra cards, misrepresenting the game state, and so on.
I know occasionally people get banned for things like slow play. But what are some of the more crazy stories of people getting banned?
[QUOTE=xevioso;/comments/6896479]Has anyone ever been banned for, say assault?
Has anyone been banned for not taking a shower, smelling so bad that it literally affects their opponents play? Or for bringing a lunch made of a limburger and fontina cheese sandwich?
I wish that were true, I would have been able to DQ quite a few people over the years.
Even if they don't search you just wasteland'd them. plus once you can pull off dumping a few traps the threat will be there and you can bluff later.
Yeah, but this deck isn't trying to 1 for 1 them, and it can get mana hungry. I could see where setting them back a turn might be great in some situations and since cryptic command has become more popular I could see just quartering them and then moving to second main phase to empty pools.
Zeniths only go back into your library when you cast them, and I rarely see them.
Eldrazi Titans haven't seen a lot of play since they banned cloudpost.
Colossus is only 1 card that goes straight back into their library, at most it buys them an extra turn.
Gaea's Blessing, do people even play this card?
Hedron Crab kind of dilutes the deck, I could imagine times where I'm sitting at 1 counter on Ascension and I draw this... not a great moment.
Pyroclasm is actually better than Volcanic Fallout in this meta, I'm not too worried about resolving a Pyroclasm against a deck that can counter it, and against some Zoo and Affinity decks I'd rather have Pyroclasm a turn earlier than a turn too late.
If anything the sideboard could transform the wincon and turn it into a more standard U/R storm deck, winning with either Grapeshot or Kiln Fiend. Kind of a "Go ahead and take out our your removal"
Anyways, here's a the sideboard I've been tinkering with.
Rise/fall seems like more of a blowout than Blightning. The fact you can play it a turn earlier than blightning helps you against many aggressive decks and because it costs less it will hurt less when you flip it with Dark Confidant. As well as being able to cast Rise off of Bloodbraid Elf, which won't be common but it's still something. If a player does choose to play it they could even have a single Watery Grave that can be fetched with Verdant Catacombs.
The only way it's worse than Blightning is if you hit a land, or worse, two lands. But isn't Cascade about hitting the lottery anyways?
If anyone is interested here's the list I have been testing.
Yeah, generally Wurmcoil, the three Eldrazi titans, and Primeval Titan are a good enough creature base to push through. Considering how popular swords to plowshare and path to exile are in legacy you really want to get face value out of your fatties.
So if you have access to a second Emrakul and then a Kozilek and Ulamog I'd say toss them in. You want to have something to use once you have enough mana.
Vesuva is down to about 11$ right now. Just saying the deck would be a lot better with it than without it.
Explore could could come out. You could play Crop Rotation. Ancient Stirrings is probably too slow, so it could come out as well. And reap and sow costs a bit and is a bit slow as well.
I'm sure he could fit into reanimator lists or solar flare lists. A titan or Elesh Norn are slightly juicier targets because even if they don't stick around they get some amount of face value.
Give monomania a spin. It is powerful and no one sees it coming.
The first time they don't, haha.
It's not the greatest, if they still have a hand by that turn the it's good. But late game it won't even pick out the last card in their hand.
As for R&D making discard weaker, I wouldn't say that. Blightning was pretty amazing when it was around. Are they up to hymn to tourach levels? No. But they've been cutting down on many cards like that. You don't seen them reprinting Brainstorm do you?
Plenty of times.
Yes, this is much more common. A big one is someone throwing their deck at their opponents face, and I've seen that a few time.
Probably.
That's much more of a legal matter...
That falls under unsportsmanlike conduct and is more likely to be considered a game loss.
I wish that were true, I would have been able to DQ quite a few people over the years.
Probably.
It's just really annoying. But if your opponent or another player asks you to stop you probably should or get removed for being disruptive.

Also if anyone has looked at the spoiler list Evolving Wilds and Lingering Souls seems amazing for a budget list.

3 Kiln Fiend
2 Grapeshot
2 Hurkyl's Recall
4 Wipe Away
Spell Pierce is just plain good against a lot of decks, costs 1 and can up the count on Ascension.
Kiln Fiend is there for when I'm worried they might drop Leyline of Sanctity.
Grapeshot is there for alternate wincon, or if I see a titan or something.
Hurkyl's Recall is there for affinity (A deck that I have no way of winning against with Archive Trap).
Wipe away is there as a catch all, against ethersworn cannonist or gaddock teeg or leyline
Edit: Also Ghost Quarter wouldn't be too bad... Not sure if you could catch people with it too often.

4 Dark Confidant
2 Grim Lavamancer
4 Bloodbraid Elf
4 Rise/Fall
4 Inquisition of Kozilek
1 Duress
3 Punishing Fire
4 Lightning Bolt
2 Maelstrom Pulse
2 Blood Crypt
1 Overgrown Tomb
2 Stomping Ground
2 Raging Ravine
4 Verdant Catacombs
4 Dragonskull Summit
4 Grove of the Burnwillows
1 Rootbound Crag
2 Swamp
1 Forest
1 Mountain

Plantinum Emperion and Blightsteel Colossus seem somewhat inferior to the other Titans.

You're thinking of Stony Silence
Unified Will might be interesting in one of those slots, Pact of Negation while free might give some game losses.
A part of me wants to play Noxious Revival just so I can play more Moonmists.
The first time they don't, haha.
