Dredge is an established decktype in Legacy and Vintage. This card completely destroys it, as the deck revolves around putting creatures into play from the library (Narcomoeba) and graveyard (Ichorid), as well as casting spells from the graveyard for their sacrifice-related flashback costs (Cabal Therapy and Dread Return).
That's perfect, dread does not even need to exist. Literally on your first turn in vintage, you could win with dredge without even casting a spell unless you cabal therapy which you don't really need to. First turn kills aren't bad in vintage but when your not even casting any spells to win, something is wrong and I applaud wizards for trying to damage the worst mechanic by far (storm is 2nd but not even close).
Hopefully a rules change in the future were any player who has a dredge card in their deck must always be on the draw, start at 1 life, and anyone who is nearby may smack them in the head each time any dredging is done.
I used to play a sweet U/B reanimtor in modern which cheater emrkul from the graveyard or as a sideboard plan with polymorph , now i just cry myself to sleep.
Sure reanimator will probably be hurt from this but this card stops dredge which is the worst mechanic in the game.
I wish all dredge cards were just banned and we forget this horrible mechanic that lets you win without casting a spell or even interacting with your opponent.
In fact, I wish all dredge cards were confiscated by wizards and burnt.
When a 1 colorless mana card can stop a lot of different things including the most powerful card ever printed in magic history yawgmoth's will then it is an amazing hate card.
calling it now: this card will hit $20. want. so much want.
Undying mechanic is going to force white players back into dispatch, and black players will want to run sever the bloodline.
White has a permanent removal for undying creatures called Oblivion Ring. I do hear that is a card white plays often.
Overall it is a nice card and better then many other non titan big creatures I have seen but we will have to wait for titan rotation before this will see much play outside of pod.
I knew they wouldn't give Undying a "good" Mythic! I still like it, plenty of dumb meat.
You seem to want this card to be broken instead of mythic. if this card has haste over vigilance it would be broken. with vigilance, it is more fair but still good which is what i think standard will be heading to next rotation.
The basic lands were after the nonbasic lands in Mirrodin Besieged. Heck, I think the basics are after the nonbasics in every single set.
Come to think of it, I'm now nearly certain the Helvault is fake if it has that collector number. (Either that or DKA somehow has no basic lands in it.) Otherwise, there would be no way to fit the basic lands after the nonbasics in DKA.
Innistrad's full set size is 264, counting basics. Mirrodin Besieged's full set size is 155, counting basics. Check their "Announcing..." pages on Daily MTG to confirm that.
If there are no basic lands in this set (which is possible) then this would fit in there fine. There only being one of each basic land seems like a waste of being able to fit more cards and to allow more tokens like the sorin emblem to go around and be more available to people.
Wouldn't it being 157/158 immediately disqualify it as a fake, as even if there were only 1-per, it still has to be proceeded by Island, Plains, Swamp and Mountain which we can be 100% sure would be included in the set? I mean, looking back as far as Inkmoth Nexus it's 145/155.
Who says there has to be basic lands in this set? I know that it is much more likely there is a one of each land in the set but I don't think it is impossible for their to be zero land in the set.
I mean if there was only going to be one of each basic land then I can see it possible that it could be none and would allow there to be more design space such as more cards between jar of eyeballs and this.
It's sad how many people are getting the wrong impression on this card. It isn't even competing with Olivia.
You run this in an aggressive RDW style deck, and you sac your little guys stuck on the ground that can't break through the opposing defense anymore to keep this big evasive body alive to peck that last bit of damage in on turns 4 and 5.
Anyone who runs a fast aggro deck understands "the wall" that I speak of, and this card is great at breaking through that.
I'm a control player, and still can see that much.
The problem is with gutshot being a popular card what will you get out of her? going to keep saccing non humans to her because that's what your going to have to do in order to keep her alive as a 4/1 flier. Have not been impressed with the black and red low drop creatures in this format so far.
Much rather run olivia then her even in an aggressive deck.
-Realize that it doesn't mesh with the general strategy of that tribal deck.
The issue I have with this card is that Olivia is the exact same mana cost and I find her to overall be better. Would you run 4 of each? It is not the card that is the issue it is that she is competing with another 4 drop vampire who is great.
If they maybe made her a 5 drop with changing it a bit to make up for one more mana then I would be excited for vampire decks. But we have olivia and even bloodline keeper as 4 drops.
Hopefully if titans rotate, this will be one of the go to big creatures in standard it looks like. love that they made it 6 mana instead of like balefire dragon at 7.
Just remember that people like us have a chance of picking it up cheap. Also a chance to laugh when beating face with him because we paid a portion of what others might have to pay!
No love for Thrun!? :-D If a Sun Titan is involved you can hit those two.
Incorrect, oblivion ring has an ETB trigger which does target so it will be unable able to exile hexproof creatures.
Only reason it works with pacifism is that it is not being cast which requires a target at time of being cast but is instead being put into play and you choose who to attach the aura to which does not target.

Mostly because they like putting their new mechanic onto a mythic. similar to reaper from the abyss with morbid.

Yes, if you have 3 emblems for example all creatures you control have +3/+0 for remainder of the game.
