Exactly. Not to mention the additional 6 life you need to pay in order to get your 4 mana 2/2. Too slow for combo decks and too expensive for fair decks.
Chillax man. Lightning Stormkin is nothing more than a decent limited card. I keep hearing people screaming from the rooftops about "power creep" with this set. Couldn't be further from the truth. If you want to see power creep, take a look at M11. Lightning Bolt, Preordain, Birds of Paradise, Baneslayer Angel and the Titans are all more powerful than ANYTHING in M20.
Why is the white one not Squadron Hawk? Print this laughably worse card when they could have just tossed that in, synergized with the flying deck they put in here
Squadron Hawk was incredibly good back in the days where power creep was ACTUALLY a thing. M20 is not M11. After all the jank that's been printed in the last 10 years you should be used to getting "fixed" (read: crappy) versions of your favorite cards.
I see your all failing to notice this is a instant speed version of half of tooth and nail
The operative word in your statement is "half".
Tooth and Nail is an absolute house that does work in cube. This is a bulk rare that won't see play outside the kitchen table. There's not a lot of scenarios where I want to leave up 5 mana in green to grab two sorcery speed cards that I can't even play. I'd much rather find a spaghetti monster and something to give it haste and finish the game on the spot.
Loving Murder at common. I was so tired of this effect being 5-6 mana. Not sure if I like Tomebound Lich more or less thanShadowmage infiltrator. It's a good problem to have.
I'm glad to see the power level of commons creeping slightly closer to that of the ZEN/SOM days. I still don't think this is THAT pushed though. A 3 mana 2/2 does not pass the vanilla test. I'm not convinced I'd pick it over Phyrexian Rager. Personally I think the floor is more important than the ceiling.
If it had haste it would be actually playable imo. (in the format)
What?
This is a turn 3 9/9 flyer if built right. It is cool. But it would be so unfun for limited if it had haste.
You should not expect the uncommons and commons to have much relevance in Modern.
Why not exactly? A quick Google search will show you that the 7 most played cards in Modern are all common/uncommon. In fact, 14 of the top 20 most played cards have all been printed at common or uncommon.
I don't see how the Bear is going to be a bomb in limited. It's still just a vanilla 2/2 when you don't build around it. How many Changelings will realistically make it into your deck? Don't get me wrong, I still think it's an awesome card. It's just I think it will do most of its work at the kitchen table.
