I voted for the Dimir because they survived in secrecy for years since the guildpact was signed and were largely undetected for so long. They would let everyone else wipe themselves out and take down the last guys with their full numbers.
I support America because we are a right-wing country. America is not just a geographical landmass or a cultural group, America is an idea. Freedom, republican government, an armed populace and constitutionalism are at the forefront of this idea.
So you're saying that America is a right-wing country that has a left-wing president? Sure, republicans are in control of the senate but it is worth pointing out that democrats still have the popular vote. You can read through the constitution all you want, but it says nothing about one political party being superior to the other. Besides, the founding fathers opposed the idea of political parties because they though corporate sponsorship would take over politics. If you don't think this has happened then this might be a good link for you to check out.
As a liberal living in one of the most liberal cities in the nation, I have never heard any of these rumors. Many people play football in Madison; I live 3 miles away from the stadium and can hear the game from my house easily. I have many friends who play football and MTG (!) and I believe that if you don't like football, don't play football.
EDIT: I heard somewhere that soccer is more dangerous than football, but I don't have anything to back it.
I don;t see why people think Edric, Spymaster of Trest is better than Momir Vig, Simic Visionary. Edric can add some multiplayer dynamics, but Momir combos off so easily and can search for the one creature that you need to win the game sometimes multiple times a turn. Why is Edric better?
21 is a little low for a coltrol deck. Although you have many low-cost spells you are going to want mana open for Cancel so I would go to 24 lands. Here is my typical land rule for a 60 card deck:
Start with 24 lands
If:
Deck is monocolor: -2
Deck is tricolor: +2
Each additional color after 3: +1
Deck mostly made of CMC 3 or lover: -2
Deck mostly CMC 5 or higher: +2
You're likely to play spells on your opponent's turns: +2
You have mana acceleration: -2
You're playing elves: -4
You have lands that produce many colors of mana: -1
You're likely to play against land destruction: +2
You're likely to win by turn 2: -10+
The only card I would take out of that deck for certain is Harvest Pyre. Other than that, feel free to adjust to whatever your friends play against you.
2. Not as creatures
3. You can redirect damage to PWs
4. They still live
5. Dreadbore
Someone should actually send this to the white house
