As a red player, you could have easily played RUG for the past like 3 years. Red is fine. But mono coloured decks aren't good right now unless it's for a reason.
Pox is alright right now because it's a mono coloured deck that disrupts the opponent's manabase and High tide is good because well...it's high tide.
But mono red does suffer from issues yes, for a reason. If we have red a draw engine, why would anyone play anything else? Redundency beyond belief in the colour, only needs to resolve a few spells to win the game, fast clock for a non combo deck and other **** I'm not gonna bother listing off.
If you don't like that a colour is good in magic, it's kind of a moot point. Every colour has it's strengths and weaknesses. Blue may be the strongest colour, but this isn't 2003. GB/x is just as powerful as many of the blue based archetypes in the format right now. If you think brainstorm is broken, just play one of those decks. Liliana+Hymn+Thoughtseize+INK+whatever other stuff you wanna play makes short work of the card advantage those decks try so hard to maintain.
Occasionally it had been seen in some elf decks of past generations revolving around using intuition in conjunction with a lot of fast mana as a back up plan. But elves these days forgoes that package because there's just too much in mono-green that is good. It really only splashes other colours out of the sideboard for stuff like Ruric Thar, Cabal Therapy and whatever.
It's fine if it stays on the field, but most of those decks have answers. Dredge plays chain of vapor if you get it out that early and most of the other decks have some kind of answer.
After doing a midnight release it would appear not too many of the cards in this set will see major play in legacy. Just a few random upgrades like that artifact/enchantment hate card for GR that shocks an opponent.
Maybe Thassa could be tested in merfolk? I doubt it's good enough though, even though she is pretty sweet.
They won't unban black vise, t1 black vise, t2 goblin guide, lava spike is already 12 damage. If they crack two fetches, you can almost kill them with a fireblast.
I don't think mono red needs that kind of tool when it's already good. Hell, not even just mono red. Why wouldn't RUG play that kind of card? Or B/R delver?
Mind twist is probably fine to be legal, but it would be played in metalworker. Making the opponent discard their hand on turn 2 is pretty good.
Also, DRS did hurt a lot of decks hard. Loam, Pox, Traditional Reanimator, Dredge, Lands, Cephalid Breakfast and probably others I'm forgetting at the moment.
The only reason I would advocate the banning of DRS is because of it's versatility, omnipresence and it hoses a lot of strategies. It hurts reanimator, loam, etc. But it's good enough to run in the maindeck which is the main issue for it.
Now, I'm not saying it should be banned. But if it was, I would understand. And that's coming from someone who plays 4 of 'em in both my legacy decks.
You could always use extirpate and surgical extraction to hit people's non-basic land base and than just mind funeral them for 90% of their deck. It also hates out combo and Emrakul and the like.
The best answer to this question is simply: What makes her more powerful than any other way of cheating creatures in?
Tinfins, Reanimator, Sneak and Show, etc are are extremely power. But they win the game by resolving their creature usually on the spot. She does not. Your best creature to put into play is Grizzy and reanimator can have him on turn 2 consistently if not turn 1 depending on the build.

Adapt, don't complain.
The new card and CMC posted for an upcoming set. Seems pretty good in pox, but anyone see a place for it somewhere else? New decks?

As well, I presume if black vise comes back there will be a competitive land destruction deck to bottle neck people.

Edit: You want snapcaster in this deck too.
If you get it out turn 2-3 it's not too bad, but it's still a problem.
I would say that getting a leyline of sanctity out earlier is better. But if used in conjunction, it's powerful.
It just sucks because storm can go off so early using chain of vapor to bone you.
