Disagree. Troll did a lot for the deck by making those bridge/dredges guarantee lethal (and survive pyroclasm). All of the other dredge cards that can replace troll are MUCH worse, both at dredging, and if they're put into play.
No matter what it's a big hit to the consistency/speed of dredge, which is what they're trying for. It's similar to the affinity bannings: hurt speed/consistency, but leave engine intact.
edit: I'd like to add that failure to ban hypergenesis seems like a terrible oversight. Just saying let's not understate how important troll is.
I agree with this. As for Hypergenesis it could always end up the ban list seeing as the Community Cup is them testing the waters for Modern.
Obviously missing lands like Sulfur Vents, but we have to make due somehow. The deck's legacy counter-part frequently goes off on turn 3 with a 15% chance of a a Turn 2 win. This version doesn't have access to some of the ramp available in legacy, but it still has quite a few boosts in the form of Rite of Flame, lotus bloom, Simian Spirit Guide and Seething Song.
Edit: this is RE: Kira-Kun, not some random spam comment.
Sorry I should have been more specific, I meant the mana-base. It's hard to find something close to Sulfur Vents and Tinder Farm. But Viscera Seer is a fantastic replacement for carrion feeder as a sac outlet, thanks.
Festering Goblin is pretty good for a one drop imo. When buffed he can kill creatures bigger then him and help finish off another creature that needs one more damage to die. There maybe some 1 or 2 drops in the Alara block though.
Other than my sideboard with enlightened tutor, my whole legacy deck also is legal in modern except mother of runes and vindicate, which can be replaced by oblivion ring. And stp, but it's obvious stp->path.
I said in an earlier post I was happy about Modern because it would allow me to play Bubble Hulk outside of legacy. Then I remembered that that some cards are from Scourge and earlier...
Maybe if I browse through gatherer some more, I might be able to find some substitutes.
@Sliver lord
As for cemetery reaper, he was originally in it. But things got a little...top-heavy...it's hard to explain, but ultimately I cut him from the list.
@Pein
I can't think of any 1-2 drops. There's Festering Goblin, but he's meh. Other than that, nothing really comes to mind. And the Vial has been doing pretty good in testing. I let it charge up to 3 and it's a steady flow of bodies from there. However, I may cut it and rework the list.
Sooo...obviously It's zombie tribal. I liked the idea and ran with it. I can't really think of a sideboard so suggestions on that would be appreciated. I tried to smooth the list out as much as I could, but if I should cut\add anything, let me know. I can haz deck feedback pl0x?
Most of my decks would fall under Modern, so I really do hope this happens.
Same here, my card pool is all cards that would fall under Modern. I've been kinda sad about it because I never got play witht then when they were legal.
Also @ anyone who can tell me how you put the card images up when you post a decklist to show what the key cards are etc.
Then you're mana gets a bit messed up and Scapeshift isn't as powerful. With Prismatic out it's much easier to cast things like cryptic command. You don't HAVE to run Prismatic Omen, but it makes things easier and more efficient. But with the Ravnica duals available, I suppose the mana base wouldn't be as much of a mess as it is currently in extended.
Edit:
With Prismatic it's something like this...
Turn 1: land, pass
Turn 2: land, explore, pass
Turn 3: land, Azusa, lost but Seeking, drop 2 more lands, cast Prismatic Omen, pass
Turn 4: (you can play another land, but at this point you have 6 in play) cast Scapeshift, win.

Thanks for catching that, it's fixed now.

For those who don't know how the combo works.
1) Protean Hulk Dies
2) Hulk fetches Viscera Seer and Body Double (copying Hulk)
3) Sacrifice Body Double (copying Hulk) to Seer
4) Body Double (copying Hulk) fetches Mogg Fanatic and Reveillark
5) Sacrifice Mogg Fanatic
6) Sacrifice Reveillark to Viscera Seer
7) Reveillark Reanimates Mogg Fanatic and Body Double (copying Reveillark)
8) Sacrifice Mogg Fanatic
9) Repeat process until opponent is dead.
Pentad Prism is...Fifth Dawn..is that Mirrodin block? And i'm actually working on that right now.
The deck I have already have uses Simian Spirit Guide and Seething song and Footsteps. Rite might help a bit. Also doesn't help that Chrome Mox is banned.

I guess that's a good point. I've been thinking of adding red but i'm still a little iffy. I'll brew up a B\R list and post it.

Then I guess we need to do whatever we can to ensure Modern becomes a paper format. *points at sig*
Edit:
As a side note, I made a modern deck, you guys should check it out and let me know what your think. It's called Army of Darkness
I know how you feel.
