Personally I absolutely hate this art. It's way too purple and has nothing to do with a strand. I can't stand it. Looking at it kind of makes me nauseous. Not only that but the composition leaves the visible part of the art the fuzziest part, it kind of just looks like purplish mist and some rocks to me.

Lol except you're paying the full 10 mana and not getting the Exile 2 permanents effect. I'd rather cast him from my hand.

I've spent a while thinking over what you could do to enable the Nullifier, and there really is a ton of options in the coming standard. One of the ideas I've really liked so far is using o-ring type effects as removal, then using the exiled stuff as fodder for the counter. There's the obvious delve interaction, and there's also rebound (admittedly, there's not much in the way of frequently used cards there.) Ugin's often used -x also fuels it, and there's plenty of simple, straight up "Exile a thing" cards.

I think it could potentially be one of the most powerful cards in the whole set, which is great due to it's rarity.
Without dipping into other colors, we currently have:
Ugin is the only one seeing play currently and you aren't using a wincon to enable a counterspell.

Yeah but you're completely ignoring the fact that they're going to support the mechanic in the block. Fathom Feeder in particular could work very well in a UB shell with this card. People have been complaining because "ingest doesn't matter," 1/1 is too small. Fathom Feeder has a good role to play, most people aren't gonna want to block your 1/1 deathtoucher, so it'll feed your processors pretty well. and then in the late game it still has utility and it continues fuel your cards. I would imagine that if either of these cards are played it'll be together.

Honestly I think Roil Spout probably would have been fine at WU and instant speed, for sure if they only picked one of those. It might have been playable outside of limited then. Its sad it would have been really good at WU instant.

    Welcome the the I'm-glad-you're-not-a-designer club!

You realize it puts the creature on top the library? This means it's not card-disadvantage. So, for two mana you'd nullify an attacker or blocker, control (nullify!) their next draw step and gain tempo. All that potentially at their EOT. Then potentially countering it when they draw and cast it again. And with an awaken bonus for the late game.

You make a very good point. I already retracted my stance on it being reasonable at instant speed though. It would be way too good with awaken. I want it at WU but maybe I just really want WU control to be a thing.

I sure do miss the hell out of Azorius Charm

Sure, the attacking/blocking qualifier is there, but with plenty of added utility as well. Instant-speed Awaken is probably not where the designers want to be, but other than that, I see no real problem with an effect like this on a 2-drop instant.

I think the only thing holding it back from being reasonable at instant 2cmc is the awaken. Optional instant speed 4/4 plus that effect is too much

I agree, but it might have been too good when you could top a creature in response to a fetch and make them shuffle it away. It comes up quite infrequently with jeskai charm, but it does happen. As it stands, I'm not sure why Roil Spout isn't just mono blue. We have a time ebb effect in magic origins, and this one just doesn't feel special enough to be multicolor, other than to fill some hole in a cycle.

Also might have been too good in combat step, bounce a creature and ambush attackers with a big dude in one spell sounds good to me. Would have been an incredible control tool.

Mystic Snake Eldrazi seems good, albeit you need to guarantee exiled cards in op's graveyard. Delve helps with that but i think it would need slightly more support. after that condition is met its fantastic, good rate for an evasive body plus counter. Wish it was UG though.

Edit: someone pointed out the danger of having Awaken at instant on something like this, and I agree, but I still think it should have been 2cmc. Not that I would have been mad if they had put it at instant. Might have helped WU control be a thing.

5c Cycle of Legendary Allies? that would be pretty fantastical. I love Drana and the artifact. The scion zone could contribute to a ramp deck (UG PLZ). We'll have to wait and see about the counterspell

Ob is perhaps the simplest of the plane walkers they've made so far, a little uninteresting in terms of innovation on design's part, but definitely powerful. The tweak on the ultimate makes it soooo much better. I'm glad Read the Bones got reprinted. Maybe UB control will have a fighting chance.

Kiora looks fantastic. I like the current use of UG as the ramp colors. She ramps, she draws cards (plural!), and her ultimate is hilarious and powerful, though unlikely to be used.

Kiora's minus ability seems more BG and her ultimate GR. I guess, her pw card is real. But still, these are weird combination abilies for a UG card.

I would tend to disagree entirely, drawing creatures and lands is very UG, as is fighting with octopi. Hopefully she's real she looks great. Ob looks great for black control, if a bit generic.

make it 3/3 and i play it
make it 2/2 flying and i play it
make the ability 3 mana and i play it
hell, even when he would be 1/3 i would consider playing it

but this... why is this rare ? just cause it has so many keywords ? this set keeps spoiling one crap rare after another

Are you insane? they would never print a UB 3/3 with deathtouch and ingest and that ability it would be absurdly overpowered. I don't know if you noticed but they don't print creatures that efficient outside of white and green, let alone in blue. They thought delver sucked, so don't try that argument. Same with 2/2 and adding flying. Maybe a 2/2 or a 1/3 and those abilities I agree would have been fine, but 3/3? No way

Overall I think its not going to go anywhere, but I want to be wrong, I like it. Just don't think it's quite good enough at 1/1. And it's rare for a couple reasons, keeping deathtouch out of a battle cruiser format and complexity according to NWO.

Option 4, no protections, no evasion, no real and worthy effect (oh yeah tapping a creature by sacrificing one of the body, the body will generally be more useful...)

For 6 we have wurmcoil wurm, all the titans (al far better than... that.) and a lot of rare card with a ccm of 6 that are far more powerful than this and do not even see play, i'm not high, this card is just bad that's all.

I'm not even talking about the 5ccm cards, a lot of them are better than this eldrazi in constructed (starting by thragtusk.)

Yes it's a limited card (a good one at that), why is that so offensive to you? Especially since they've openly admitted that the Titans were a huge mistake and Wurmcoil Engine is basically the colorless Titan. Not every card has to be top tier competitive. The Titans are among the best creatures ever printed, random intro pack rares most definitely should not come even close to them in power level.

    Enemy-colour manlands is my guess.

thats not really a "brand new design" though and thus very unlikely

If they do enemy man lands in an interesting manner it could very easily be a brand new design, I wouldn't by any means say its "very unlikely." It's by no means a sure thing, but i wouldn't rule it out. In response to your land design, I highly doubt they would release lands that you had to pay mana before you could even use. I like the general idea though.

No, that's not the point of a dual land and just being able to use 4 in a deck is not a sufficient restriction. The point of dual lands is to provide fixing but it should come at a cost - life, tempo, whatever.

Not being a basic land in and of itself is a restriction. There are many cards that let you fetch basic lands. Checklands, although they have restrictions, if you play them properly they usually don't cost you anything, tempo, life or otherwise. The point of dual lands is to provide color fixing, period. Wizards decides what restrictions are healthy for the game.

I always think it's funny when people say things like "NO FETCHES?! WTF WIZARDS IS TRYING TO KILL THE GAME!!!!1!111 FUUUUUUUUUU!!!!!111!!" Think about how long it took them to reprint the Onslaught fetches, and for that matter to even print the enemy fetches. There is a minuscule chance, if any at all, that they would reprint the ZEN fetches the block after reprinting the Onslaught ones. These people make the game for a living they're not retarted. Calm down over the fetches and get curious about the new lands. I personally am praying that they're enemy manlands, i would be so happy. It would be interesting to see how they make them feel right flavor wise, and I hope they're at least decent power wise. Either way interesting lands are always fun.
