    Finished 4-0-1 after 5 rounds with the list below yesterday at my LGS.

    Round 1: Affinity

    He arrived late so he got a game 1 loss,

    Kept an opener with Zealous Persecution, once my opponent vomited out his hand, an eot zealous wipes his board and was not able to recover

    Round 2: Jund

    Game 1:
    An IoK picked up a Dark Confidant, he proceeds to beat me with a Goyf, I timelied for 6 life and 3 chump blockers. Spectral procession followed by an anthem was to much so we proceeded to game 2.

    Game 2:

    He lands a Scavenging ooze, followed by a liliana, he ticks her by 1 and I discard a lingering souls. I killed his ooze with a Dismember and flash backed my souls. Another +1 activation of his Lily nets me another Lingering souls in my yard. An anthem and a couple of swings later wins me the match.

    2-0 (3-0)

    Round 3: Monowhite Hatebears (DnT?)

    Round 1:
    I start with an IoK taking out a Vial, I land an anthem, he casts a Blade Splicer then proceeds to attack me with his Golem and Mutavault, I topdeck a Timely Reinforcements which served as my defense, I eventually overwhelm the board with Spirit tokens via Spectral Procession and Lingering Souls which gives me Game 1.

    Game 2:
    I honestly don't know how to SB properly, this game I flooded so bad that when I eventually drew something useful the opposing side has 2 Splicers, a Flickerwisp and a Thalia. We proceed to game 3.

    Game 3:
    He mulls to 5, Turn 1 thoughseize reveals that he kept 4 lands and a Splicer, I curved out with a T2 BB turn 3 Lingering to Hero which wins me this round.

    3-0 (5-1)

    Round 4 : UR Twin

    Game 1: Kept a hand with no removals (Big mistake) I play a discard spell which reveals an exarch, a Splinter Twin, a Spellskite and a few lands, I take out his Spellskiet (not sure if this is the correct play) turn 4 he was ready to combo out with an exarch in play, I fake a removal with 2 lands untapped and 3 cards in hand (2 lands and something else) I drew no removals for the next turns, he then eventually casts his combo which takes me out.

    Game 2:
    Windbrisk hides a Liliana, I make him discard Negate via IoK, I never tap out to present a removal, I cast a Spectral Procession which he lets through (I know he has a Snapcaster mage in hand) I attack with the Spirits to activate windbrisk, I make him sac his lone exarch via Lily, he flashes his Snapcaster Mage to save. I think he was not able to draw something relevant plus the fact that he was stuck at 3 lands for a while made me win this game.

    Game 3:
    A turn 2 Torpor orb shuts down his critters, he lands a Keranos who kept on zapping my tokens, eventually a Hero of Bladehold + Intangible Virtue on board snags me the victory.

    4-0 (7-2)

    Round 5: Bring me to Light + Scapeshift

    This guy is my teammate so we ID and split our winnings.

    Was a great tourney thou I was really not sure how to SB properly. I really like this deck, it gets grindy most of the time. But most of the time we can outgrind our opponents Smile

    Im considering to cut the last mana rock, as it was MIA in all of my games but did not even miss it, I still run a lot of basic lands so Blood Moon decks should not be a problem.

    Im also cutting Twincast and Archmage, since the field has a lot of aggro lately, these cards often did not have targets.

    Tamiyo just sat in my hand most if the time, wishing it was another wipe or removal


    Will test the changes after the holidays

    Hi Guys,

    I have been lurking this thread for quite some time, and I think it's about time I shared something.

    Placed 28th out of 108+ players with the list posted below.



    The tournament lasted for 7 Rounds with a cut to top 8 after swiss.

    Round 1 Purphoros, God of the Forge

    Game 1 I was on the play, he did not cast anything relevant so I dropped Geist turn 3 and rode him to victory
    Game 2 He casted Phyrexian Revoker naming Stoneforge Mystic, which was sitting on my hand, did not cast it thinking that the etb will not trigger (my mistake) he proceeds to beat my face then casting Ruination which empties my side of the table. We proceed to Game 3
    Game 3 was pretty much like the first, turn 3 Geist then protect him with counters.

    Round 2 Maelstrom Wanderer

    Game 1 I kept a hand without disruption, he freely ramps into an unanswered Inferno Titan then casting his commander next turn which beats me into a pulp
    Game 2 Turn 3 Geist, Turn 4 Armageddon wins this game
    Game 3 I kept a hand with some card draw and an Armageddon hoping to replicate game 2. Turn 3 Geist meets a Pyroclasm he then casts a Dack Fayden then proceeds to ramping, I was thinking twice about blowing up the lands because of the advantage his plansewalker is giving him. I stalled the game a bit with Nevermore naming his commander, but him eventually casting a Primeval Titan then destroying my enchantment with Krosan Grip seals the deal for him.

    Round 3 Prime Speaker Zegana

    Game 1 I was on the play, Turn 3 Geist with counter back up was too much for him
    Game 2 Turn 3 Geist met a Dissipate, EOT Venser also got countered. I was able to resolve Elspeth then SOFAF. Made a token then pumped it up with Elspeth making it a 5 turn clock for my opponent

    Round 4 Prossh, Skyraider of Kher

    Game 1 He drops a Beastmaster Acension early in the game, but I Remanded his commander. Stoneforge mystic fetching Jitte proceeds to control the 0/1 Kobolds. I out-aggro him with a SOFAF equipped Geist, Stoneforge with Jitte and a Glen Elendra Archmage. He then recasts his commander from his hand (By this time the Ascension was at 6 counters) I tutored for an Echoing truth on his EOT then he scoops and tells me we should proceed to Game 2
    Game 2 Basically answered everything he played. His Turn 3 Somberwald Sage meets a Jouney to Nowhere. His Chord of Calling was met by my Aven Mindcensor. I then take out his remaining dorks with Parallax Wave.

    Round 5 Marath, Will of the Wild

    Game 1 I was basically overwhelmed by his board state, he kills Geist by removing his hexproof with his land(forgot the name) then shoots it with Marath. I was not able to do anything relevant from then on.
    Game 2 I was able to get an early boardwipe, getting rid of his dorks. He casts a reclamation sage, I took it from him with sower. Attacking for a couple of turns with boost from Elspeth. He then casts a Primeval Titan but was not able to get relevant lands because I had a Mindcensor in play. next turn I attack over his Titan with a flying Dread statuary (thanks to elspeth) ,Sower and Mincensor for lethal.
    Game 3 I got stuck with 2 lands, I was able to stall with a Mystical Tutor searching for a Terminus. But eventually got run over by elementals with SOFAF and Jitte

    Round 6. Opponent did not show up so I got a Bye

    Round 7 Skithyrix the Blight Dragon
    Game 1 I had an early Geist out, then a casts a Liliana of the Dark Realms (Which I ignored, big mistake here) I proceeded into attacking him, he answers my Geist with an edict effect, he then peels my hand with his discard suit then his lily hits her ultimate. Yawgmoth's will into a tutor in Hatred wins him Game 1
    Game 2 I cast nevermore naming his commander, I tried to go aggro but he always has an answer to every creature I play. Time was up so we go into the last 5 turns but it was not enough for me to catch up.

    I'm quite happy with the results as this is the first time I played my Geist in a competitive environment. I'd like to thank Sharky for giving me a lot of insight on how to play this deck. Too bad he was not able to play in this event, I'm pretty sure he'd top 8 that tourny if he did

    could be a 2-3 of in the 2 drop slot. Not really worried when he dies, just make sure you have a tragic slip on hand because morbid will trigger when it dies killing it before your opponent gets a chance to use it against you. Plan B is to put a counter on him early.

    I run 2 Skinrender MD, pseudo removal plus a body. I like it because, compared to other 4 drops, it has an EtB ability, serving its purpose even when it gets hit by a morbid slip. And also vapor snag is still a card, bounce skinrender? yes please. It's a bad topdeck when your board is empty though.

    Question: what happens whe you target a Geralf's Messenger (already with a +1/+1 counter) with a skinrender?

    Great, thought scour it is. my meta is dominated with Delver at least I have something against them in the MD aside from the stalkers. anyway what do you suggest putting in the SB if you have a lot of RDW & MBI in the area? beacuse right now ,my SB is like this and i don't like it a bit:

    I wanted my list to stay U/w as much as possible not splashing black because like what previous people said, spot removal is getting worse. the only reason to splash black right now is to flashback Lingering souls. Drogskol captainlooks sweet but I like my list to stay creature light.
