Does the vampire even work as written? By the time the trigger resolves, are any creatures still even "attacking"?
EDIT: maybe "each creature that attacked this turn"?
Yes, creatures are "attacking" until the post-Main Phase. I've done a few tricks letting a creature hit me only to deal with it as an Attacking creature during the End of Combat Step.
511.3. As soon as the end of combat step ends, all creatures and planeswalkers are removed from
combat. After the end of combat step ends, the combat phase is over and the postcombat main phase
begins (see rule 505).
Interesting idea! You would need a way to convert the colourless mana into coloured mana in order for it to work. I see the synergy, but I think it would need too many components to run smoothly (Cathodion, Recover card, sacrifice outlet, mana filter, and then a way to actually get an advantage from this loop).
Cards that be used in that loop:
Sadistic Glee
Deathgreeter
Selhoff Occultist
Unruly Mob
This is the initial Affinity list I brewed for my very first Pauper Event.
I've been playing forever and I still remembered my old Affinity deck from Standard 2006.
Pretty much used Atog to replace Ravager. Cranial is banned so I dealt with it.
Fling won me the Event vs Burn, flinging Atog over top of my opponent's blocker, when it was down to "if he untaps, he wins".
Star is a fixer as well as food for Atog, drawing a card where Chromatic Sphere has to activated to draw.
Etherium Sculptor was a last minute epic find when I was digging through my Modern Masters commons for Frogmites and Workers.
The speed is nearly comparable to Modern's Robots - I've dumped 5-6 cards on Turn 1 several games.
I finally had time to make changes to this deck recently, after having this exact list for a bit over year.
I'm going to hold off on showing that list until I get to play it myself, at the next Pauper Event that comes around.
EDIT: After seeing this Pauper Affinity topic, I didn't notice and realize what the "togless" was until posting this list.
"Togless" just didn't register as 'Atog-less' when I first seen this topic...
I use the Pauper banlist from Wizards, but for "what is considered as 'printed Commons'?", I use a rule I picked up from a L2 I talked to: "paper prints for paper Pauper"
Prime example - Predatory Nightstalker. Online is Common but paper is Uncommon. Being that we use this 'paper prints for paper Pauper' rule, it's not legal for paper Pauper.
As badly as I want to use Predatory Nightstalker too, this is fair for doing paper Pauper Events.
The question "what is considered 'printed' commons?" came about because I go to several places for Pauper and don't want to change my decks depending on rules from store-to-store.
This is how I've been unifying these store's Pauper rules.
How low do you think Tarmogoyf will go down in price once this set releases? Anyone think it will go down to the $100 mark?.. I'm really hopeful..
When Modern Masters was coming before, June 2013, I remember reading an article where the President of Starcitygames flat-out said they will not be lowing the prices simply because a limited print-run set.
This looks interesting as hell!
I might hop on this band wagon and run this tomorrow night.
Missing the 2 Damnation though...I can make due with the options posted in this thread. Thanks
As much as I like this card, the key thing that screams fake when discussed among my group, was the colons next to the costs.
Someone thought it saying just "Ugin" in the text box instead of the full name was bad, but Brimaz, King of Oreskos and few others do this too.
While not as big as GenCon, we have a convention called 'Origins' in Ohio - so my first thought on Magic Origins was that they were taking it over, being that it seems MTG is the biggest thing at the convention after all.

Sadistic Glee
Deathgreeter
Selhoff Occultist
Unruly Mob
4 Myr Enforcer
4 Ornithopter
4 Vault Skirge
4 Somber Hoverguard
4 Chromatic Sphere - or Star
3 Bonesplitter
4 Galvanic Blast
4 Thoughtcast
2 Mirran Mettle
4 Great Furnace
4 Seat of the Synod
4 Vault of Whispers or Ancient Den - colored mana is way better than colorless and can be for SB options like CoP:Red, which I use
3 Lotus Petal - or 2:1 using an Island
This is about the best I'm going to do on the fly, without testing and tweaking.

You guys were mentioning mana rocks, I've tryed using Talisman of Progress in Uw Tron and Simic Signet in a Ug build
