I'm actually English, over here they are about £3 each. That's not really that expensive, but when it would be mostly a casual deck I don't want to go to £9 of expense for just 3 cards (I have plenty of creatures already).

Right. Do I gather that I should just leave it in my folder then?

I'm Sorry, I think I miss-classified this. It's not really so much of a Necro-Pox as more of an absal of Dark ritual, giving you a huge quantity of turn 1 plays with it. Also, I realised that with this theme,, Smallpox dosen't fit very well, being 2cc not 3cc and all...

I am wondering what cards go well with Birthing Pod in a deck. I want to make some kind of Birthing Pod deck, but I only own one copy. I don't want to buy any more either. I was thinking Diabolic Tutor, but as the Tutor costs 4 mana, I don't rally think it's worth doing so. Could someone help out please?

I've been thinking about a Necro-Pox build for a while, and decided to see what I could do with Dark Rituals and other mono-black shenanigans.
    Here's the planned list:

Thats the list so far. I just need 2 more cards. These should be powerful finishing creatures. What about Phyrexian Totem? That would mean basically 6 Negators, they also are 3cc which is the magic number for this deck.

    Comment please!

I was thinking, just for fun, it could be nice to build an Insect themed deck. I wondered what others would think. Heres the list:

    Lands:
    Forest x8
    Swamp x8
    Plains x4
    Evolving Wilds x4
    Terramorphic Expanse x4

    Creatures:
    Caustic Crawler x2
    Dross Hopper x4
    Goldenglow Moth x4
    Mortician Beetle x4
    Rust Tick x4
    Scute Mob x4

    Other Spells:
    Doom Blade x2
Hornet Sting (It's on theme!) x4
    Groundswell x4.

Basically, there are a few sets of cards that like each other:
    Goldenglow Moth-Dross Hopper-Mortician Beetle.
Block with Goldenglow Moth, gain life, sack it to the Dross hopper, Morticin Beetle gets a +1/+1 counter!

    Fetchlands-Scute Mob-Grounswell-Caustic Crawler.
These have a nice little land theme. Scute mob cares about numbers of lands out. The Fetchlands allow Caustic Crawler to trigger twice, and Groundswell has another landfall trigger. This can pump an already potenially huge Scute mob to ridiculous proportions!

Doom Blade and Hornet sting add some removal/burn, and Hornt Sting fits the Insect theme!

Rust Tick gives us some disruption.

    What do you think?

Sorry, but could someone tell me what a Darkblade deck is? I haven't heard of it until recently.
Yeah, Spellskite is going to be popular I think.

As I said at the beginning, Spell Pierce is one of my problem cards. I'm not very experienced, and think myself a bit of a Timmy, so I find I stumble right into it a lot. I think this could help to counter a counter so that get a key spell off.

I know that Mental Misstep is being hyped as a brilliant Legacy card, but I am thinking about its viability in Standard. I wouldn't put it in a deck featuring blue, as there are better blue counters. I am thinking how it could do in other decks. I would think it could be for use against Spell Pierce. Maybe I'm just too new, but I really love this card.

Personally, if this were to see standard play, I wouldn't think it would be in a deck featuring blue. There are better counters in standard (by that I mean with more relevant targets) that can be used in blue, but as far as I know(which is not that much, I admit) there are no non-blue counters in Standard. I would use it as a 2-of to help counter things like spell pierce which would otherwise disrupt your plans.
