MaRo said the rare land cycle is "brand new design", so I can't see them finishing some cycle.
If the brand new cycle is 2color lands, I hope thay print all 10 of them.
The brand new desighn will probably feature a set mechanic or something very close to it.
The original Zendikar block contained a total of 36 non-basic lands, so I'm betting we will get more than one cycle in BFZ, maybe even a second rare cycle. If I had to take a guess, I'd say we can expect a cycle each in Rare, Uncommon and Common.
I don't think Wizards will print a very good land cycle that's fetchable. however, i can see then printing simple fetchable lands as commons or uncommons. Something like guildgates with both basic types instead of gate status.
No matter what, BFZ will contain lands that are Standard playable.
I'd like to see the Invasion sac lands again, but maybe they exile this time?
Or maybe they print a version which gives Khan mana instead.
Really didn't expect that art to be for Exalted Angel.
Also I noticed that the wording on Exalted Anged is not "lifelink"...
Kind of wondering what is the difference between
"Whenever Exalted Angel deals damage, you gain that much life." (Exalted Angel)
and
"Damage dealt by the creature also causes its controller to gain that much life." (lifelink)
Someone cares to explain please?
The most important difference is that Exalted Angel gives you life AFTER you take damage, while lifelink gives you life AS you take damage. So if you are at 3, and your opponent attacks you with 4 1/1s, with Exalted Angel you can block one, but you die waiting for your life, whereas if she had lifelink you would survive.
As Blair Phoenix mentioned, since it is not lifelink, you can give her lifelink also, which is nice, but the abilities are not the same.
I like the choices for cards here, but the art for Exalted Angel seems very questionable to me. I guess the veil is supposed to be the morphing? I just really feel like it's a miss in terms of art direction (nothing wrong with the piece alone, but it's not Exalted Angel to me). Entreat the Angels is a good solid angel spell, and none of the choices are "lame".
Wizards clearly states that all of the creatures are legendary in the cube. No Death Rite Shaman.
Ti also clearly state that the cards in the prize booster are not from the cube itself
Incorrect.
"you’ll also be rewarded with Legendary Cube Prize Packs that contains six cards from a selection of 150 Legendary Cube cards."
Then further descriptions of what sets the cards may come from do not mean that the cards might not be in the cube, they mean that those are the cards in the cube that might be in the prize packs.
Have you thought about Dark Confidant? In addition, Might of Alara would replace Ghor-Clan Rampager pretty effectively a fair amount of the time, especially with a black splash.
Well, I have to say that this was an unexpected turn for my mono-artist deck out of all things. And while it's quite unfortunate that I couldn't find a pre-order at my local stores with a set price weeks ago, I all of a sudden wouldn't mind paying a bit more than usual for this whole thing.
And speaking of Phil Foglio, I remember that he was actually polled to be the MOST popular Magic artist once upon a time in an old InQuest magazine. While we still would have to question the sampling of the poll itself, it definitely says something about how people's attitude and expectations towards art changed over the years.
I'm guessing it was a simple "Name your favorite", which would naturally favor artists with very distinctive styles, as other artists would naturally split votes. I would prefer a poll which asked for each of a number of artists whether people have a favorable or unfavorable view of the artist, and the artist with the best split would be the "favorite" artist, though the artist who has the largest number of fans calling him their favorite could also be viewed as the "favorite".
In addition, because it says "whenever you draw a card", if you have a card like Divination, which causes you to draw cards, Lorescale Coatl will also get +1/+1 counters from that.
T: Add one mana of any color to your mana pool. Use this mana only to cast colorless spells, or activate abilities of colorless cards.
Cool link, thanks!
That's Barry's Land, and here's what Maro has to say about that:

He's more expensive than Birds of Paradise, and not as generally useful, so I didn't feel comfortable suggesting him.
