You can go almost creature-less and win with cards such as Repercussion, Spitemare, Boros Reckoner, etc. Lots of indestructibles and/or pro-reds, red for damage sweepers and Earthquakes, white to gain back some life.
Well there are the hexproof/shroud equipments. You shoul alao have a bit of countermagic on there. However, the better Zedruu decks I've seen can operate just fine even if the Minotaur is tucked.
I'm sorry, I latch onto some pointless stuff, but what in the hell makes you think grind scales any better than normal milling. Grind mills an amount proportionate to the percentage of your deck that is lands. In standard 60 card that's generally slightly less than 24 lands. In EDH that's usually a bit less than 40 lands. That's a little less than 40% land either way. Granted, there is a statistical difference for a few reasons, but not nearly enough to say that it scales notably better.
I think that's what he meant. A spell that mills for 10 isn't as good when cast on a 100-card deck than on a 60-card deck, while a spell with Grind will ideally mill the same percentage of the deck, regardless of its size.
The effect scales, as in it has the same effect on a deck with any number of cards. I dont think he meant that the effect will be stronger.
You know what, I was thinking of exactly the same deck concept just this morning. I'm currently also thinking going Grixis with Sedris, the Traitor King, to abuse the abilities of Zealous Conscripts, Conquering Manticore, etc. I could also go Rakdos with Tymaret, the Murder King, which provides an always-ready sac outlet for stolen creatures. Blue does give permanent-stealing effects and Clone effects though, so I'm still thinking about that..
Yup. I've won a fair share of games off of the advantage that Cryptic Command + Eternal Witness gave me. even just over a few turns. With Riku of Two Reflections in play, the synergy becomes devastating. And with Prophet of Kruphix in play, it just becomes downright absurd.
Hi, I'd like to request for a banner (to be used as my sig as well as a banner for a thread) featuring Riku of Two Reflections at the center, and then Epic Experiment behind the back of the left Riku and Genesis Wave behind the back of the right Riku. Caption: The Epic Wave. I want the mood of the banner to be EPIC. Thanks!
The casting cost is restrictive, but it hasn't been much of a problem for me because I run it in a RUG deck that's very blue-hungry, so most of my ramp searches for Islands. I'm always happy to draw it, never a dead card, and rounds out a light but efficient countermagic package with Hinder, Spell Crumple and Plasm Capture.
One suggestion is that you might want to have more instant-speed removal in there. Allows you to react more to what's going on around you.

This could work if you make it just work on creature cards, I guess?
