Mar 4, 2014Kumlekar posted a message on Off Topic: The Fungus TribeThere actually are cross tribe synergistic cards. The problem is that the powerlevel has to be quite pushed for them to be good. They work best in limited, and fairly poorly in constructed.Posted in: Articles

I think he was referring to the fact that allied colors are usually rewarded with better fixing than enemy, where as these would be identical.
4 Enigma Drake
4 Goblin Electromancer
2 Spellheart chimera
2 Arcanis, the Omnipotent
Spells:
4 Counterspell
3 Essence Scatter
2 Supreme Will
4 Lightning Strike
2 Searing Spear
2 Mizzium Mortars
2 Earthquake
4 Fact or Fiction
4 Clout of the Dominus
Lands:
5 Island
4 Izzet boilerworks
5 Mountains
3 Myriad Landscape
4 Swiftwater Cliffs
Drana I'd play in a very different deck. Anawon and drana fit well with an early game spent entirely neutering your opponents hand, trading 1 for 1 with their creatures, and then landing one of these power houses to cement your board control and put the opponent on a clock. There's a few other vampires that can fit into this play style. Gatekeeper of Malakir stays as does Vampire Hexmage and maybe Vampire Nighthawk. Some cards you might consider if this route sounds interesting:
Whichever of these you play, you will probably play Cabal Coffers and similar big black ramp. Liliana of the Dark Realms plays well here.

Basically
Blightsteel + Xenagos
Vulnerable to sacrifice and instant speed exile, and instant speed bounce.
Blightsteel + urabrask
Vulnerable to being blocked by a 2/2 and punished at sorcery speed
Inkwell Leviathan + Urabrask
Slow kill but very hard to interact with. I only put this on here because inkwell is used as an alternative to blightsteel in vintage. It's a tinker target that isn't vulnerable to Dak Faden. Resistant to on board abilities
Worldspine wrum + xenagos
Pretty much the same as Blightsteel + xenagos, except that you trade resistance to sacrifice and ability to reanimate for dies to doomblade.
Emerakul + Xenagos
Vulnerable to instant speed sacrifice.
Emrakul + urabrask
Slower kill, and doomblade fogs, but not answerable by sacrifice.
Emrakul + eternal witness
Slow kill, but beats flying deathtouch creatures, especially if you have a way of sacrificing eternal witness. Vulnerable to non-targeted sorcery speed punish.
In any case you should probably run 2-3 Asceticism if you want to cover the combo.
