Like someone before me suggest, I prefer if they just use set abbreviation as symbol replacement

Innistrad instead throne or heron just put INN
Dark Ascension instead crown or bat just put DKA

I know, i know it's not pretty, but it's so much more functional.

While I don't agree with this for everything, I always thought that Duel Deck symbols would look nicer (and use less design space) if they were "M1X" style, with that rectangle that the M1X series of Core Sets has been using with the duel deck abbreviation in them (HvM for Heroes vs Monsters, SvT for Sorin vs Tibalt, IvG for Izzet vs Golgari, etc). I don't think this works for every set and expansion like you suggested, but they make a lot of sense for Duel Decks.

There is a lot more degenerate stuff then this combo. Sorin Markov and serra ascendant are played by asshats everywhere.

Neither of those are turn 5 (or 4, or even 3) kills in which one of the combo pieces is your general (meaning: pretty much always in your hand regardless).

Stopped by my local Walmart this morning. It doesn't look like it's ever been stocked there. There wasn't even a pricetag on the shelf.

In all likelyhood, this just means that the vendor hasn't been in yet. It hasn't quite been a week since these were released, so it is possible that you won't see them there for a while (heck I was surprised that my Walmart got them this early - they're usually more than a week behind on MTG releases).

My Walmart just got it's shipment the other night; when I went to pick mine up last night, the only deck missing was Mind Seize (naturally), with one or two of each other deck. But it looked to me like it had been restocked in between when I saw them that afternoon and when I picked mine up that night, so who knows how many cases they got; they might stay in stock for much of the near future.

At my Walmart this evening, they had two each of Jund and Naya, one each of Esper and Bant, and (naturally) no Grixis. Which I was okay with, 'cause I just wanted my Jund Grin

There are issues with a 4c commander from a design standpoint, and Id love to see 5 just to say they exist and they are an option if need be.. What if it was a 2c commander with a 2c ability different from the colors on the card? Like a UR legendary creature that has haste and flash, 2/2 body, and WG(tap) to destroy target enchantment or artifact? Not a great example but uses each of the colors..

EDIT: I know this is kind of a workaround for the question that was asked, but it still fills the 4c commander requirements..

... OMG wow. I cannot believe I have never thought of this, but it is a real elegant solution to designing a card which can be used as a 4-colour commander. It fixes all of the design problems, and while it might still be more of a challenge to design, than your average 2-3 colour creature, it is perfectly feasible to do well nonetheless.

Seriously, I tip my Hat of Power to you, and will now wait for Wizards to release a product with these creatures in the next year or two. I mean, they have to, right? It's such a great idea to fix a hole that a vocal subset of players want filled, while at the same time potentially just being really interesting cards on their own.

I would like to again stress how much this has impressed me. You have actually turned me completely 180 around from being rather vehemently "no 4-colour commanders, they cannot be done!" to "wow, this is a cool idea that I really want to see!" You did this ON THE INTERNET. And not just on the internet, but on a forum filled with vitriol and people who assume they know better than everyone else.

I repeat, YOU CHANGED SOMEONE'S OPINION ON AN UNFRIENDLY INTERNET FORUM. YOU MAY VERY WELL HAVE WON THE INTERNET.

Personally, I doubt we will ever see 4-color Legends. As a lot of people have pointed out, they are really hard to design (especially for the justification "because they haven't been done"), as a creature with all but one color will more often than not seem like a five-color, or worse, just seem to have no identity at all. Also, while there is certainly a subset of players that want them, it isn't a very big one, and in any case most of the time a 4-color EDH deck would be nigh indistinguishable from a 5-color deck with a similar strategy.

And in any case, there are options for 4-color decks if you really want one - for instance, as many have mentioned, I would imagine that your playgroup would let you use the Nephilim as commanders if you really wanted too, besides which you can use a five-color commander if you want to build a 4-color deck but don't want to use the Nephilim (things like filter lands, Command Tower, and anything which says "add mana of any color to your mana pool" could be used to cast it, and you'd probably use such things in a 4-color deck anyway - besides which that Reaper King can be cast with only 4 colors).

I was not happy with Elspeth vs Tezzeret and I am not happy with this one.

Really? This is just my opinion of course, but I think your Tezzeret is the best Planeswalker art currently in existence!

Emrakul doesn't time walk when he's brought into play by Show and Tell. That effect only triggers when he's actually cast as a creature spell.

Oh, really? Huh, didn't know that. Yeah, as you can probably tell I don't play much Legacy/Vintage (nor do a know a whole lot about those formats), so really my two-cents aren't worth a whole lot. Of course, one would have thought I would have learned to actually read the cards by now...

Um, unless I'm mistaken, given that this card requires life to use and is a Sorcery, I don't think there's a way for it to take out a turn 2 Emrakul without significant life gain: Emmy comes in and time walks, swings for 14 (almost certainly eliminating any blockers with Annihilate), then you're at 6 life and cannot make the Deluge strong enough.

Granted, this particular situation can be rectified if you put Sigarda, Host of Herons on the field with your opponent's Show and Tell, and this is just one matchup that Toxic Deluge doesn't work in. However, I think that the life loss will be a bigger hamper to the card than some people think when dealing with a deck that's already swung at you.

Getting the Prossh deck, but I'll be using it as a base to build me a Shattergang Brothers deck! Oh, sure, I'll build it so that I can switch into Prossh or Sek'Kuar as the general should I want a change, but SUPER SHATTERGANG BROS!

I agree that a few of the generals didn't seem like they were in a perfect shell but they still worked within their deck.

However in my eyes Sydri, Mayael and to a large extent Sharuum doesn't fit their decks well.
Not to talk about commanders who feels like they belong somewhere else: Gahiji who feels like it needs a token-deck. Marath feels like it needs a DS-effect to reach proper shenanigan-levels, however this is more a cry-out that Marath cannot feed himself unlike Ghave, Guru of Spores. Thraximundar who doesn't feel like a pick for a control-player in grixis.
So in my eyes the 2013 product feels more off than Gen 1.

That said, all three of the tri-colour legendaries in Power Hungry fit the deck's theme very well! Just another reason why it's my favorite of the bunch Grin

Okay, this is actually really cool and makes a surprising amount of sense. It is totally my headcanon now.

Although, I don't read the comics (might want to start at some point), but does anyone who does know Dack's colours? I think I remember hearing that he's UR, if he's WUBRG then that fits with him being us much more (as each new land and spell in the new expansions are the new manabonds acquired and spells learned in each plane he walks through).

I am such a huge fan of Shattergang Brothers. Goblin? Yep. Jund? Yep. Sac shenanigans? Heck yep. Packaged in a deck that makes full use of said sac shenanigans, but still with plenty of room for tweaking and personalization? Yep.

CANNOT WAIT TO PLAY WITH POWER HUNGRY!!!!!!!
