I had that thought a while ago. But good catch with the lynch-1 thing. That may be worth looking into.
Wait, I just re-read this; are you suggesting we actually attempt to put this to the test? I'm not okay with that, at all. I'm willing to take it at face value presently, as it would require a lynch to prove otherwise, and frankly, I don't feel we're in any position to do that at this point.
Before I crash out, I want to say I reserve the right not to wait on The Ice King if Sepiriel gets around to posting a list. TIK's got a reread to do and posts sparingly.
You can be impatient all you want but I'm not acting until I get everyone's list.
Iso: Not liking you at the moment. A couple of your posts hit my ear wrong, and this one in particular is a bother:
You pretty much admittted you OMGUSed him, and the rest of your post looked important, but was just a bunch of irrelevant flavor that I refuse to read, as trying to flavor game Seppel at this point seems like not a good idea...
Not much of a tell, considering this is technically my first game of Mafia on a forum. That being said, the rest of it is a bit outdated.
Anyway, I would appreciate if you could make your list asap, as it will make this game go so much faster when you do. Thank you.
I've spent over 4 hours working on the post I'm going to make once all of the lists are complete. I'm going to be very upset if people shrug it off.
Why wouldn't we assume that there is a benefit to gain from triggering?
@Iso Wagon: I am not seeing too much on Iso to warrant a vote other than what could be taken as fear mongering as bolded by me.
One would have to assume by the opening flavor that should a person unlock their ability it will result in a net gain for the person/side they are on. The only reason I see for anyone to say what I bolded is to bring fear to someone.
I never said there wouldn't be a benefit to gain from triggering. But to suggest that all triggered abilities are going to help the town is preposterous, as it would suggest that there is no scum, and being that we are playing Mafia, well...that is simply not the case. More explained in response to your next quote.
Again, what motivation would I have as scum to know what handicaps there are. If anything it helps the town in my mind as if anyone DOES exploit a voting handicap, we'll see it rather clearly.
That's a very narrow way to look at it. This is what I'm trying to get across: If scum knows town handicaps, which are not necessarily restricted to voting handicaps (which, to suggest, would be more narrow thinking), then being that they are scum and for the most part invisible to the rest of us until something happens to out one of them, it is HIGHLY detrimental to town to reveal their handicaps. Why wouldn't scum leave people alive who have a bigger handicap, and why would they leave people alive who pose more of a threat to them role-wise? Your entire argument in favor of this seems like a poorly thought-out scum defense of an attempt to get a feel for who the weaker players.

I would like an answer to the question about the wagon on me.
I feel like that's already been sufficiently answered. You're in favor of something that gives scum too much information, far too zealously. You also jumped on my wagon for a piss-poor reason, which I might add, was VERY opportunistic. Shame on all of you for taking advantage of the fact that I was unable to post at that time.
You're saying that you don't want a moniker claim because we don't know what our new abilities are going to be. This confuses me, because I don't believe the two things are related.
Also, no one's talking about intentionally activating people.
Although you do make a valid point about not knowing what people's abilities will turn out to be. I don't think they will be detrimental, personally. I think of it kind of like leveling up.
Tanarin stated specifically that his ability was activated through something to do with monikers. Tanarin is ALSO talking about intentionally activating people. You're not paying attention and not looking at all of the possible sides of this, and it feels like you're trying to be disagreeable then suddenly agreeable within the same post. Something about your posts isn't sitting right with me. IGMEOY.
Seriously, stop giving away role information for nothing.

There's plenty of time to play with triggered abilities and figure all of this out later on. I want to hear from everyone before we even consider doing something we might regret.
Whyfor?
On that note, I'm pretty much holding off on discussion until I see the last list, too. It will be very insightful, my supertown post.
What is a Naka post?
Thank you. It will be the ultimate townie post.

You just gave scum far too much information about you. Say no more.
I understand. I was confused at your first post. But now I understand.
@kill-joy
It makes sense if that's what the mod designated as their amnesia activation.
And, got it. I thought you were trying to be evasive, I didn't realize you just hadn't addressed it yet.
So it's not within our best interests to mistake one for the other.
