The End of an Era

Any one excited for alpine moon or infernal reckoning or are they just too narrow to be good/playable? I'm considering the moon because of the nonbo damping sphere creates for BBE but i like the flexibility of one card hosing two decks...

That's the thing, I don't really know. I'm trying to think of a reasons as to why most people run 2x Tombs. I was going through my Living End deck today and noticed I had an empty sleeve realizing my Tomb for that deck was being used in Jund which got me thinking why does Jund need two Tombs? I'm trying to think of a scenario that we would fetch for a second one other than maybe one of them getting blown up by a Molten Rain or something.

I see in a lot of lists w/ 2x Overgrown Tomb. Why not 1x Overgrown Tomb and 1x Blooming Marsh instead???

Woo, Raver speaks the truth. I've been in the Leyline of Sanctity boat for a while. I realized its power after playing with it against lantern control. Against Burn now a' days I dedicate my sideboard slots to the Leyline as its good against multiple decks. I used to use brindle board and it was only good against just Burn. But that is just me though, I've come to value flexibilty over savage hosing cards in my SB.

if you are expecting leyline of sanctity I swap out abrupt decay and bring in maelstrom pulse and krosan grips.

Kind of off topic but if we can convince someone to make an updated banner like we have now but with Steve Argyle's BBE incorporated in there (minus the words "JUND") I'd be very interested in getting a high res down load of it to have made into a custom playmat.

Aside from that. In the past I've played some number of Slaughter Games in the sideboard as a catch all/I dont know what else to put in this slot kind of card if I'm going into a blind meta. Now with BBE being able to cascade into lost legacy the card has crossed my mind. Anyone tried it yet?

Conspire and convoke are some interesting mechanics to consider looking into for this deck. I wish there was a way to search spells with alternative costs on wizard's website. This like snuff out but instead the payment is tap 2 or 3 creatures and profit. This deck would be sick.

Went 3-1-0 last night at FNM. Golly is BBE dirty <3 Against Humans hitting a Kcomm is just filthy against them. I tried a pair of Rakdos Charms and Krosan Grips instead of Ancient Grudges. I think my MVP was Maelstrom Pulse though it just put in so much work. I liked that philosophy from Jadine's article is why I tried the Grips and Charms over the Grudges in the sideboard. We are seeming more of our deck and I'd rather hit cards that don't "wiff" when I cascade into them. I will be playing another event later today with the same list so we will see how it goes.

p.s. SO MUCH FIELD OF RUIN!!! between Path, Ghost Q. and FoR I've been playing out all my basic lands some games.

Dude, the 3 mana Gideon is cancer. I hate that we can't interact with the emblem and they are just damage sponges. Each loyalty counter virtually translates to additional life points for our opponent against us. The MU is dismal. I'd rather gouge my eyes out with rusty spoons after they have Spreading Seas'ed my lands and the 2nd Gideon comes down; it curtains :.( I need a hug thinking about it.

Anyone notice the 1-of Mountain in his list? I saw so many freaking Field of Ruin in that video Gaping . Scary that card is everywhere, it has become like the Wasteland of Modern lol.

Very good point about Eldrazi Tron during Grixis Shadow's reign of terror for a while. I won't lie that happened to me at GP Vegas I stayed the night at an Air B&B and there were few magic dudes as we were all testing the night before on how to beat Shadow and 3 out of the 6 dudes were on Shadow. All 3x of the Shadow dudes didn't make day two because they got hated out. The one guy there on Eldrazi Tron made day two with me. People get so psyched out by focusing on the #1 deck that they leave themselves open to the #2 deck at the time. I'm very supersized that Jund isn't the #1 played deck right now. Jace has stole the show and has all eyes on him.

I am watching the Team Modern Super League and Reid Duke was screwed out of red mana in the 2 games he lost to Paul Cheon's GBx Rock deck thanks to Field of Ruin. I believe a basic mountain is needed.

Anyone else catch the Team Modern Super League tonight? Reid Duke on Jund versus Paul Cheon playing GB midrange. Insanely good match to watch, so much interaction.

In both of Reid's losses, not having a basic Mountain in his deck arguably cost him the match.

Edit: Also, Reid's deck for this event only had 24 land.

Idk how many people were watching Reid Duke's match against Paul Cheon in the team modern league, but it definitely made a strong case for why we should run basic mountain in the deck. Otherwise we're very susceptible to getting Field of Ruin'd out. Reid lost 2-1, and probably both of those losses could have been avoided with a basic mountain in the deck.

That's why I'm on 2x Swamps, 2x Forest, and 1x Mtn right now. FoR is real Frown

With Field of Ruin gaining popularity in quite a few builds, what are your guys' thoughts on a single Mountain in the main board?

I keep oscillating back and forth between grave hate for the mirror, gifts storm, and dredge match ups and/or blood moon in the SB. I like the synergy between 1x Keri Zev's Exp. 4x Desert Ceredons, and some number of Pale Recluses so I don't trap myself under Blood Moon which I have done before. Blood Moon can really be a double edged sword hurting you more than it hurts them some times. Currently I'm not using any land cycling dudes and 4x demonic dread and just gave up the blood moon slots in the SB to grave hate.

Recently I have made the switch from 3x brindle boar to 4x leyline of sanctity because brindle boar was really only good against burn but the LoS is not only good against burn but lantern control and BGx decks as well. LoS totally hoses lantern control, its amazing. I'm currently testing 3x blood moons at an attempt to attack control deck's mana base but I'm thinking about trying 3-4x copies of leyline of the void for gifts storm, dredge and the mirror in those slots instead.
