Not going to cry like an infant when someone interacts with my card draw or plays a combo that doesn't even end the game, especially when a single piece of removal or a counterspell stops it neatly.
Damn, so the RC doesn't want to turn their format into another "have a removal/counter by turn 4 or lose" flop format? Geez i wonder why. And i wonder why commander is more successfull than all the other formats.
Go play modern and leave us alone.
Can I use the social contract to make my Hullbreacher still worth $20? I hate this line of thought, because it treats degenerate play as inevitable, when it's not.
Sorry but this is a disgusting line of thought. Cards plummet in price every day. Price should be no reason to decide to not ban, ever.
I'm no fan of Hullbreacher, but I truly hate this ban. I feel like we've lost the idea of the social contract. If Armageddon and Stasis can be legal but kept at bay by the social contract and goodwill of friendship, why can't Hullbreacher plus wheel effects?
I have a casual five color treasures deck and my boyfriend has a casual all-pirates deck, and now we can't play with the cards we spent $20 on because some dumb kids can't regulate themselves, and so some loud mouths on the Internet complained too much, and the Commander Rules Committee needs to feel important, so they listened.
Sigh. I hate bans.
Use the social contract to convince other players to let you still play hullbreacher
Not really excited by the new cards. Venture is a limited mechanic, they needed to push it more. For example the solar has nice synergy with Sefris... but his body is really underwhelming and paying 6 for that is really too much
At this point you are just trying for the sake of it.
The card shouldnt exist period.
Great argument, much facts, really disproven my math
do you have some childhood trauma related to d12s? Are they banned in your country a smuggling them is punishable with death? I can't see other reasons for such a blind hate.
This card would work with D20 and not need the gimmick of a D12.
Simpler, more elegant, better.
Or maybe they thought that paying 7 mana to have 50% of gettin 10+ treasures was too much?
Oh wait, the % is even higher than that...
You speak of game design and then think this card would be fine with a d20? Looks like you are just afraid of d12s for whatever reason and not being reasonable at all.
The average roll of a d12 is 6,5. That means on average this spell will pay for itself. That's why they chose a d12. Not just for a "gimmick".
Using a lot of +1/+1 counters is not a issue, as you can use absolutely everything as a counter, you dont need dice.
First, you are underestimating how many damn counters you need for Cathar's Crusade in your average commander game. Second, using a lot of dice is not a issue, you can use every phone as a dice roller.
Also you kinda answered your statement by talking about scrambleverse. Also cards like tyrant of discord, outlaws' merriment and capricious efreet exist. Guess what is the preferred method for chosing at random? Dice.
This is a single card in a commander precon in the D&D set themed specifically around throwing dice. You are throwing a fuss for nothing.
Everything you said can basically be applied to any coin-flipping card or even cards like cathar's crusade.
Yeah this set is not streamlined. That ship sailed long ago and players were fine with that.
They seem.... quite generic.
BR beholder is like the same archetype as Xantcha: i'll help you by drawing while in fact i'm screwing you. Idk, i wanted something more "beholdery".
The dragon is like Old Gnawbone on steroid.
Naiherua is the most interesting of the bunch. Mind Flayer stealing creature deck sounds surely interesting. Too bad i wanted another venture general, because Sefris is a little weak/too much utility based
The giant is weird. I'm happy that he is not another aura/equipment commander and the ability surely is build-around-me
Way to completely miss the point

In the Stranger Things secret lair of course

If you don't have the dice don't play the card. What is the problem? This card won't be drafted.
