MemoryLapse posted a message on Yeva, Nature's Herald. So much hate.Way too slow, doesn't do enough. At 4cc you are playing green ramp to even think about being serious with this card. Then you look at all the other green ramp choices between 4cc adn 6cc and this card isn't even on the radar. Put it in the bin and move on.Posted in: Modern

MemoryLapse posted a message on HOU (and the other less official ones lately. ) spoilers discussion for ModernOk so it reduces the amount of instants sorcs needed to flip Thing in the Ice from 4 to 1. Not too shabby. I look forward to the interesting veins Solemnity will open up in both existing decks as well as new decks that will focus on breaking the card.Posted in: Modern

MemoryLapse posted a message on Grixis ControlWe didn' see big mana too much in las Vegas which is good. That could very well mean a lot of it in the next major tourney though, who knows.Posted in: Control

MemoryLapse posted a message on HOU (and the other less official ones lately. ) spoilers discussion for ModernBut Maro said it was a sorcery cycle, so no counterspells. We also already have 2 coutnerspells this set so prolly not getting any more. I think all 3 will be 3cc. Red's might be land destruction? 1RR destroy target land, it's controller takes 3 damage or something like that.Posted in: Modern

MemoryLapse posted a message on Grand Grix Las Vegas Modern discussionDredge is way more toxic to the format than Affinity is. Affinity is a known quantity that folks know and are ok with. It's interactive, it feels fast but fair. Dredge is non interactive and is completely about whether or not hate is on the table. Thus dredge bans. It's an obnoxious toxic archetype that makes for boring one sided matches. There's no wonder why WOTC keeps it in check with bans.Posted in: Modern

MemoryLapse posted a message on 8RackIf white is an option why not use Rest in Peace over Leyline? Leyline is clearly tops for mono black, but RiP is the single best GY hater in the format. It has splash hate vs Goyf and Scooze too.Posted in: Control

MemoryLapse posted a message on 8RackLooks a little unfocused. Rest in Peace is your graveyard hate, and probably the best reason to run white sideboard. Disenchant is a thing too.Posted in: Control

MemoryLapse posted a message on HOU (and the other less official ones lately. ) spoilers discussion for ModernNah this is different than Timely. This is a total reset of life, burn runs out of gas. Timely is a great card but may or may not push the game out of reach. Timely = 2 burns spells to recover. This card could take 5+ burn spells to recover.Posted in: Modern
