I like them in multiples, turn 2 put it on a guy, turn three put another one one the same guy and sac both. That's a turn 3 opp discards 4, or search 4 lands or draw 4 cards or 6 damage or gain 20 life.. Turn 3!!!

Sooo.... The whip says if the returned card would leave play, exile it instead. So I don't think that works guys. Also, I know what the op is talking about when he says Johnny, combo is this: I have this card, oh and I have this card, and now I play this card... And I win! It's not oops I win, it's the stratagy all along. Like for example, I play sharuum the hegemon returning sharuum the hegemon and I have a blood artist or a disciple of the vault in play... So I win, also my friend and I used the love playing fecalter, that was a combo deck. I know that even newer players can understand this consept, kiki-jiki, mirror breaker andpestermite were printed together in MM. Other examples of Johnny can be hard locks, like the recent curse storm deck( which used curse of exhaustion and possibility storm). So to wrap it up, no I haven't seenJohnny, combo player hanging around this set yet, but I'll keep looking.

Agreed, though $1-$1.50 is probably a little harsh. $2-$3 seems about right.

A $5 pre-order price from SCG basically says "our experts think these suck."

Or maybe it says: "The community thinks they suck, and we are a business, so we should list them at a price that we can sell them at."

Personally, I think they are resonable. However the rare status is arguable, and there is a massive difference in the speed of the new format. Basicly, if you had a shock land in your opener, your check lands( if built correctly) may never come into play tapped, hitting curve. If you play a scry land after turn 1 this will never happen. Only solution is to play more basics if you're a aggro stratagy. Or start at a lower curve if its a midrange stratagy. Control decks don't mind as much because they are generally a more responsive style deck anyway.

    I'd run 4 no problem.

The cards stay exiled and there is nothing saying that you can't cast a second Planeswalker casting one of the previously exiled creatures.

Yes there is. Rules check, judge! It's the same premise as when a creature blinks. The game looks and sees a new creature. Each instance of this PW says ~this~ exiles the top 3, if a new PW enters(even if it has the same name as the previous one) it will still look and see that ~this PW~ hasn't exiled any cards, and cannot use its second ability because the exiled cards were exiled by ~that PW~. Hope that clears things up.

Heeeey guys! I just did a quick search of mill stuff and here's what I found:there aren't any other cards ever printed( that I can find) that exile the top 3 cards of an opponents library every turn, the closest I could find was curse of the bloody tome, which was only 2 cards and it put them in the graveyard, bleh! I also did some math, here's what I found out: players start with 60 cards in their library, and each draw 7 to get the game rolling, that's 53 cards(keeping up?). If you play this guy on turn 3 (50cards)then mill every turn, it will win you the game in 12 turns! All you have to do is keep him around( this would normally be difficult, but I found out that he basically starts with 5 loyalty( hit points)). I also found other cards too, it's true! Some if the cards I found also take cards from your opponents library and put them directly into their graveyard! One of them even puts 8 cards there. That's like three whole turns less to win(now we're at 9). And there's another planeswalker card that puts 10 into the graveyard, each turn. With just 2 activations, that's 20 cards!(7 turns, now we're at 2). Seems pretty good. Turn 2 breaking, turn 3 this guy, turn 4 supreme verdict, turn 5 jace, memory adept,t2(8) +t3(3)+t4(3)+t5(3+10)+t6(3+10)=40cards+six draws=46. Possibly on turn six your opponent may have a mere 7 cards left in their library. And to top it all off, your opponent loses the game if they can't draw a card! Win!

I honestly wouldn't mind if they dropped it from the mechanics they actively support for this very reason - it's always been a problematic one to teach, and as shown in M14, you can certainly do hoser cards without it.

How is protections hard to teach? Just remember DEBT, D can't be felt damage( by the protected color), E can't be enchanted( by the protected color ), B can't be blocked( by the color creature),T can't be targeted(by a spell or ability of the protected color). There I explained protection. Easy and quick.

Yes he's good with domri, but he's good with Chandra's 0 ability too! I sort of want all 3 walkers and all creature deck to be a thing.

Master of Waves: Young Pyromancer's tokens are elementals as well. Possibly part of an aggro/burn deck with Frostburn Weird. Probably not because I'm bad at magic.

This plus the red god enchantment creature, so much synergy!

Whoa whoa, there's a big difference between shock and shock-your-opponents. Even so, his Inner-Flame Igniter ability is much less powerful than having 2 damage to anything available at 2R.

Not that I think the red god's not good. He's my favorite so far, and his power level seems high. But the black one I responded in my post to was way, way overpowered (and led to repetitious board states, which design avoids nowadays).

Sure, an indestructible enchantment that makes infinite black mana by itself? Right...

Hahahaha, ok I get it now, sorry I didn't see that in you previous post I guess anything would be modest in comparison to that thing.?! Crazy how so people just want the game to ruin itself. Don't get me wrong I love combo, but are you kidding me??? But anyway, like I said before, I have high hopes for the black one.

I feel like this keeps happening with the gods. I was on the red god thread earlier and people were guessing all sorts of ridiculous effects for his 2R ability (shock, destroy nonbasic). It turned out to be the much-more-modest +1/+0 ability.

Much more modest? The red god is just...wow, it wasn't just modest firebreathing, he pumps all your creatures/team firebreathing. Secondly, red also has creature ETB = shock, red one is boss, and I expect no less from a black god(and I'm not talkin bout shaft)

Whenever a Permanent you control goes to the graveyard you may put a token that is a copy of that permanent into play. It is an Enchantment in addition to it's other types.

Or maybe since it's red it's more chaotic.

Whenever a Permanent you control goes to the graveyard reveal the top card of your library. If it shares a type with the card that went to the grave you may put it into play, otherwise put it on the bottom of your library (or maybe exile it).

Either way I'd like his static to have an effect when you sac a land with him hammer.

Wow!?! That's a lot of text, given that 1 text line reads(presumably) indestructible, and another deals with devotion. I for one don't want to bring a magnifying glass for when ppl ask what all that fine print says.

Werewolves are a bad example, there was no werewolf tribal deck, and nobody ever said Huntmaster was bad. You using werewolves as an example when only two saw any play to refute his opinion that there would be no Minotaur tribal and just a single excellent card is stupid.

I would love for Minotaur tribal to exist, but comparing them to werewolves does not help their case.

Ok werewolves is probably a bad example of tribes that can be/ could have been playable. The thing is, that wasn't really what was in question. Referring to the statement: boros reckoner will be the only minators to see play. <-? It seems wrong to say that, maybe it's just me though, and I'm not upset, though my post may sound that way, I had an MRI of my back done and I hand a ruptured( herniated [ruptured just sounds more like in not a wuss] disk), and I'm all wobble ly from the meds. Sorry about that, I didn't mean to come off all hoopty hoo. Anyways back on topic I think minators could be a good combonaton with maze's end, purely baseless, because they generally wait in the middle if the labyrinth...right?

Unplayable in standard, fun casual card.

Boros reckoner will be the only minotaur to see play, assuming some insane 2 drop minotaur isnt in theros.

Ahhhhh... And troll, how do you feel about it, troll? it seems plausiblessince you know all the minators already, you must know all the other trolls, right? Can you give any hints about the minators that were only revealed to you? I remember when werewolves "wouldn't see play", but it did, and once people started evaluating cards without personal bias ravager of the fells got a lot of play,; heck even the mayor found a home in naya humans and blitz. All I'm saying is... Share the cards you are aware of and let others in on the actual card evaluation, minators may be a playable thing , but we won't know if you don't show us the cards you're looking at.
