edit: Apparently it is legit. Okay. Smile

Assuming you were talking about my bolt, can you explain how you came to that conclusion?

Pretty sure this sig is fake, but I saw a reputable online store selling one with a very similar sig, so I figured I'd try and get another opinion:

It used to be used in Eggs before the printing of Faith's Reward as a way to draw cards as well as reuse lands after Second Sunrise. Apart from that though it just feels like a bad ramp spell

When it comes to which art/versions of cards players use, pimp is in the eye of the beholder, and though I disagree I can't blame someone for wanting to use RtR shocks or Theros seizes. But I am a firm believer that the pre-modern frame is the best, and when it comes to my cards I prefer oldest possible foil printings, exceptions for judge foils that put otherwise new-border cards into the superior frame (like confidant or hierarch).

    alright guys,
    serious help needed Smile

i wanna have my foil KOT fetch lands sets. should i buy them now or whait? will foil fetches prices go up, down, or what? can you motivate your answers? THANKS!

Or, better yet, forget about those ugly KOT fetches and get the far superior Onslaught foils instead. Sure some of them cost more than some entire decks do, but no self respecting deck pimp would pick KOT over Onslaught.

My Modern Assault Loam list, everything is oldest possible foil, except the Urborg which is unfortunately FTV, and the Bobs which are judge promo.

Here's another foiled modern deck, this time Assault Loam:

The Urborg needs to be upgraded from FTV to Planar Chaos, but otherwise everything is original foil printing. Except for the Bobs which are the judge promo (old frame > new frames all day everyday). Also it doesn't really show up but one of the loams and the Overgrown Tomb are both foil, and the Twilight Mire is signed

Lol, I was actually referring to Snapcaster, and how he should be in talks of being banned. Snap would be an interesting reprint, low powered free spells are always fun.

Ah, my bad. In that case I agree, control kind of needs Snapcaster in this format to remain viable, at least anywhere close to tier 1

Without solid and cheap draw/library manipulation in modern Control needs something like Snap. It gives Control another resource at the extra cost of 1U. With out this Control has no real way to put pressure on the board or to get around dead draws. Snap is good for the format, with out him Control would be hard pressed to be tier 1.5 let alone tier one.

With a card like Snap you also have to consider what it would do for other decks in the format beyond just control. Any free spell like Snap has potential to be abused in combo, and as a Storm player I would seriously consider playing 1-2 of it in the main. It deals with problem creatures without restricting your mana on your combo turn, can be used to fix your mana (such as tapping 2 islands to pay for it by untapping 2 Steam Vents afterwards), and in conjunction with Pyromancer Ascension or Goblin Electromancer would act as a ritual as well. Would that be enough to push storm over the top? Probably not, but this is what you have to consider with a card like snap.

Bit of an old photo and list, but here is my foiled UR Storm:

When I get around to it ill probably post my foiled Assault-Loam list, but I might have to pick up foil Onslaught Bloodstained Mires first.

I usually agree with you, but if you go back and watch the video of the top 8 Sam didnt need P&P to have turn 2 wins in hand both games. The only reason he lost was because he was being ultra conservative with a deck you need to take chances with. He also played Pact main for protection.

Which match are you referring to here? I'm assuming its his match against Josh Utter-Leyton, in which case i would like to know which video you watched, because he did not have a way to kill t2 in any of the games he lost. In game 3 (off-camera) Josh had a Grim Lavamancer on turn 1 and thus would have been able to stop the t2 kill. In game 4, Josh had a t2 Gaddock Teeg and Sam missed his land drop, and in game 5 Sam never saw his Blazing Shoal.

1.) Mind's Desire: TEPS was the first deck I ever played in a competitive format, and even though i couldn't afford it at the time IRL i do keep the deck sleeved up on my desk for nostalgia purposes.

2.) Swans of Bryn Argoll: Because its awesome, and one of the last standard decks i actually considered interesting.

3.) Life from the Loam: Drawing 3 cards a turn is pretty sweet, especially in grindy GBx decks

Hmmm, hows these cards working for you? I was thinking about a lavamancer or 2 main.
    Ranger of Eos
    Main molten rain
    Ajani Vengeant
    Chandra, Pyromaster

Ranger of Eos has been fantastic for me. Originally I had 2, but due to not having any paper copies in time for a tournament, I started testing the list without him for a while. I didn't consider him again until I added the Grim Lavamancer to the main and wanted a way to tutor for it. I think im going to find room for a second copy, because even when it isn't grabbing lavamancer Ranger has been fantastic. The ability to get off to a hyper-aggressive start and then restock my hand is awesome, and it gives me a MD way to beat decks with Anger and Wraths. It also helps me tutor for Forge-Tender in the board, which Ive enjoyed as protection against Anger and Helix.

Molten Rain has always been one of my favorite cards in modern, and every time I try a zoo list without it, I hate myself for it. Destroying an opponents best land before they have time to stabilize is a huge tempo swing, and the fact that it also deals 2 damage makes it surprisingly good against walkers, especially Liliana. Against slower decks like UWR, taking out a colonnade not only makes it harder for them to win late, but also buys at least 1 turn, usually more, before they can Verdict or Snapcast. Against greedy manabases, it also keeps your opponent from playing their spells.

Ajani Vengeant has also been incredible for me. Be it blowing up or keeping dudes tapped, color screwing opponents, forcing opponents to focus on him instead of my dudes, and just gaining life against aggro, there are very few times when I am disappointed to draw him. Also blowing up opponents lands is sweet.

Chandra has been very good for me, but it is the leading contender to be replaced in the main for the 2nd Ranger of Eos. Her biggest downside is that you have to use her +1 the turn you cast her, since you generally don't have the mana to cast a card off of her 0. After that though, she tends to run away with the game. Her 0 provides a steady stream of cards, much like I've always wished Domri's +1 would, and even when she doesn't hit creatures, she digs deeper into your library and bury's your opponent in CA until they can deal with her.

It's been a long time since ive contributed to this discussion, so I figured id post the list ive been playing.

I've loved this list so far, and the only cards I haven't been happy with are the 3 Oozes out of the sideboard. They just seem to get killed before they can do anything of note when I bring them in. Outside of that though, this has preformed very well for me.
