Hi guys, I just picked up GW bogles yesterday, however a budget version with no Horizon Canopies, 4 paths main and 4 leylines in the board. Other than that it's pretty standard. I would like some advise on sideboarding: How do you board against GDS and vs IOK/TS in general. Do you only bring in leyline on the draw (since on the play they can't snag a bogle) or what is the approach? Thx a lot
Against GDS you bring it in on the play too. Even if you can land a bogle on t1, protecting key auras like Ethereal Armor, Daybreak Coronet and Spirit Mantle and also Path to Exile is still important. Also, many decks running the black discard spells also run things like Liliana of the Veil that are even more important to stop, plus some random things like Lightning Bolt and Kolaghan's Command. If you are certain that they're not running Liliana and that they only have 5-6 discard spells rather than 8, you could consider cutting down to 2-3 Leylines on the play.
In general, It's all about how many discard spells they run, how much other random targeted stuff they have, and what your alternative is. It's hard to give a straight answer as it depend so much on the situation. Against decks running only 4 discard spells and nothing else, you either don't board it at all or just do 1-2 copies on the draw.
thx for the answer, went through a few competitive leagues and went 4-1 and 5-0, deck seems super powerful, albeit slightly inconsistent and really weak to both ensnaring bridge and chalice of the void. I started first queue with stony silence but had to change it Seal to combat these pesky artifacts. Also, advice on how to sideboard against tron? I boarded out 4 paths, 1 spirit link and 1 spirit mantle(though i know they play 2-4 wurmcoil, I just think we can beat that) and board in 3 GT, 2 damping matrix and a seal or 2? whatuthink?

I think this (always bolting 'the bird' on the draw) is a really bad rule of thumb. You should always lead with a creature instead, if that is available. If not, the only time I will consider bolting a one drop might be against humans (champion of the parish), affinity (vault skirge), infect (G elf), the mirror (GG or SS) or if I have an eidolon in hand that will lose value if they produce a big 3 drop or several small creatures. Other than that it really depends on the MU and the speed of my hand. Thoughts?
ElQ - Thx for the feedback, I think you are right about the manabase, but I I'm not sure about the Claws. Burn is big and the mana does not support Firewalker. What to do
Hi guys, I've been toying with this Mardu list and it's been doing really well! It's really fast and consistent game 1 with few creatures and 2 drops and then slows slightly down postboard and becomes more grindy. It does take some dmg from lands and Eidolons, but it's by far the fastest version of burn I have ever played. Enjoy!
Quick math: avg CMC 1,26, avg dmg pr. card 2,78 (assumption - GG, SS and Edolon do 2,1 and 2 dmg respectively) that means that the deck does on avg 16,68 dmg on turn 3 if we hit land drops. When the creatures do more dmg than assumed the deck goldfishes as early as turn 3..
