Quick question. I'm slowly trying to gather the cards for the deck, but I was wondering why there were no blood moons in the decks. I mean, not even as side board options.
I bought into the Eldrazi deck early and I'll be honest, I'm not really enjoying where its going. Thinking of switching over to this as I love Red/black/white and I love tokens. How's the match up vs things like burn, grixis control, and the new Eldrazi deck? I see in the opening post that it mentions Plains walkers but I see nothing about the newest Sorin, is he just not worth it?
I've mainly been sticking with the processor build but I was wondering how TKS is doing in this build. does it eat a bolt every time like I'm thinking it would?
Maybe I am playing this wrong, but my god it felt awful at FNM. Got my ass kicked by Tooth and Nail and Mill for Christ sakes. Barely beat Elves and he misplayed badly. Should have been 0-3.
This deck, at least when I pilot the BW version, seems like it loses hard to random tier 3 decks. Did not enjoy.
I'm right there with you, I was running BR and my night went like this:
I ran into abnzan got mana screwed by one for too long and lost, Melera company and again got mana screwed, Tron got turn 3 karn on me twice, and 8rack between the Liliys and hand discard I had nothing to do.
I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong, 25 lands, 15 creatures, 6 relics, 4 Iok, 2 thoughtseize and a few kill/burn spells. That being said, I'm still goning to stick with it, maybe switch over to blue for a little bit of dig, and a few more things.
Planning on adding in Vile Aggregate for a big butt and to help (hopefully) get in some ingest. Think I should replace all of my Stranglers? a Split of 2/2?
Glad to see that the BW did so well! I was hoping someone would have brought Br but oh well. Obviously the deck has some power and I'm glad to see that one of the versions did so well!
Thanks, I know the deck is brand new and I think I'll be happy with the red version (even if my favorite color is white I don't have the fetches for it) I just wanted to be sure I hadn't missed a memo.
Has the red version already fallen out of favor? Seem like everyone is only speaking about the BW and BU versions. I'd hate that I just placed an order for the parts for the red and it already sub par.
I've been having a hard time picking a deck and now that I've seen this deck I want to run it too. How does this deck deal with burn or aggro? seem like a horrible match up in most color combos and that makes up a good chunk of my local meta. I like the idea of B/g but no one seems to be giving it a shot, any real reason why?
I'll admit, I don't like decks without SOME sort of spells. Either a Path or a D.command would make me feel a lot better but I'm no sure where I'd put them in. That being said, it was only my first time playing it.
For now, I've taken out one Lantern scout and one kor bladewhirl for 2 D.Commands, Hopefully it'll work like I want it to. As far as side board goes,
Had a random modern fire off today at the shop that just opened here in town and I took the list I just posted. I fought a mill deck and went 2-0, Tron and went 0-2, and twin and went 2-1. ended up getting second. Main issues with the Tron matches were he either got a turn 3 tron or I got land screwed. With Twin, I didn't see the combo at all. He had it last game but didn't have the mana for it. I really feel like if we get ONE good ally from this next set we're golden.
The Envoy is generally considered decent as its a one mana ally, and a very cheap enabler. Gideon is something people are on the fence about. I think he'd be decent side but he needs to be tested.
My big thing is recovering from a wipe of some sort, what would you guys think of lead the stamped? Green is a support color as it is, only really here for CoCo. Another card draw would be decent and if you hit a few allies they all go to your hand.
As the title states, I bought 4 cavern of souls off of eBay and two are a lighter color however 2 are a darker shade of purple. I've never tested for fakes before so I'm getting opinions. one picture is of the cards side by side and the other is how they all look with the light through the card.
