Heh, I lived there until I recently moved to Toronto for work.
Petawawa is not far from Ottawa so I'm surprised more didn't make the trip, as we have had larger FNMs than 18 on occasion, though they are free and the local kids don't like to spend too much.
The town is a military town, likely a third of the population is always moving and actively in the military. The quality of the players is also always in flux though some of the locals are rather skilled (well, one or two). The deck lists sure made me smile though :D. I'm gonna go ahead and blame people coming from Ottawa for the bad ones :).

Good on them for finally getting the tournament run though! Maybe next year more will show up. They have an awesome shop set up there, the owners are also military chaps.
