    Skyclave Shade vs Scrapheap Scrounger

Landfall vs another dead creature may break even in the long run but the 5 mana version of the shade looks better than the 2nd point of toughness on the scrounger.

Thanks, you're inclination matches mine. I love Venser and I've often found GEA doesn't perform as well in 2-player cube as the opponent is often in a more creature focussed build if you've been taking blue controlling cards. Though there's still plenty of targets in theory.

Testing out a 180 list which is really hard...

Cut 1 of Inquisition of Kozilek or Hymn to Tourach.

    Cut 2 of the following:

I'm still planning on running Treachery if that impacts the Sower pick. Also the cube only actively supports enemy colour pairs so Blue pairs with red and green for the most part.

    Thanks

@ Jamis, since scavenging ooze & tireless tracker are different cmc, i'm assuming that ur flexible w/ ur cuts, so why not drop mardu woe-reaper & add wall of omens, that way you could cut wall of blossoms. same wall, different name, so you dont lose the effect, & that would give you room to add kazandu mammoth...

on a side note, just curious, but why isamaru, hound of konda & not kytheon, hero of akros

Tracker, Ooze, and Mammoth take up a similar role in my mind - they're low-costed green creatures that beat down with minor upsides. Tracker can investigate, Ooze can be gravehate and lifegain, Mammoth can be a land, but I think the same deck that would play one, would play any of them. Woe-reaper and Wall of Omens aren't the same in my mind. The white weenie player would be much less happy to have a Wall of Omens instead of a Woe-reaper. I could still see cutting Wall of Blossoms for the Mammoth instead, though.

Kytheon and JVP are two cards that are good enough to be in my cube, but are kind of left-over exclusions from when the cube was slightly lower power. I don't want players to have to split so much attention fighting multiple onboard planeswalkers. The power level in the cube has increased, and because of that I've recently doubled the amount of Planeswalkers in the cube, because I felt decks could now handle that. It's possible Kytheon could have slotted in during that update, too. Part of me also wishes there were playable black, red and green flip walkers, too though. But that's a lesser concern; I already run several incomplete cycles. Kytheon will likely be in one day, but it's not been a priority to make the swap.

I had a quick look over your list and personally I'd cut something like Rattleclaw Mystic for the Mammoth as you have a bunch of 2-drop mana dorks, I don't run the mystic or Wall or Roots at 360, but I do run green aggro so slots are tighter and cards like Mammoth, Scavenger and Tracker are valued much higher. Wall of Blossoms was also on my cut list as I've never felt that my green decks actually want it where most (all?) of my non-aggro white decks would love a Wall of Omens.

I agree on the flip-walkers, I run Liliana as she's put in some work in an aristocrats shell and just being a 2/3 lifelink that threatened to flip was enough to help greatly in some recent games. I really like the Nissa but had to cut her going down to 360, Chandra was good once or twice but again not good enough to survive when I went down to 405 a while back.

I was thinking that having gone down to 360 cards it would help with limiting new cards which are good enough but I have several cards in each colour which look appealing and not out of place for 360 unpowered... Cuts are going to be brutal.

Of those 4 I don't run the Lich, mostly becuase I couldn't be bothered with the Monarch rules. Otherwise Living Death is the one that goes in and out of my cube as it's powerful but narrower than the others, it's back in as of my last update as green has some more graveyard interaction which is where I find it often works best.

    I'm also thinking Elder.

Looking at cuts for Luminarch Aspirant, feel like it's Accorder Paladin or Imposing Sovereign in a 360 card cube. Also would you cut both and run Remorseful Cleric too?

The rest of my 2 drop section is

    Thanks

She played well for my wife last night, the 1/1s hit me a few times while I tried to stabilise against the rest of the rakdos aggro deck (with a light aristocratic splash). At one point Chandra bumped Koth up to 5 loyalty the turn he was played so would have ultimated the next turn with 6 mountains... I bounced him though. Then the -2 was threatening to kill me due to a Burst Lightning in the graveyard and mana to kick it.

Glad I kept her about though the cut to 360, she's just interesting and versatile so long as she has a bit of defense, or strong enough offense that she can't be safely attacked.

The Scarab God vs Tezzeret, Agent of Bolas?

The other 2 cards in my Dimir section are Creeping Tar Pit and Baleful Strix. I do support the artifact deck which makes Tezz seem a better choice but the deck can function without Tezz and he's often the only black card where as TSG isn't so archetype specific?

    Thanks

I didn't vote because you need an option for "have 4 land cycles." At 360 having 40 fixing lands is completely reasonable, and the 4th option is very good for most guilds.
Here was me thinking I had my bases covered and I missed this one. Would be tough finding cuts for another 10 lands but I may look into that once I've got the rest of the changes drafted. I've added that as an option.

Thanks for the reminder about canopy lands, I've never ran any of them as Horizon Canopy never really appealed and was expensive, but they'd make the addition of Wrenn and Six even better and I'd probably want Crucible of Worlds and Ramunap Excavator back in, they got cut a while ago as they didn't do enough unless it was in stax, or strip locking.

Looking for the 3rd card in Gruul after Bloodbraid Elf and Dragonlord Atarka, looking at Domri, Anarch of Bolas, Sarkhan Vol and Huntmaster of the Fells.

Domri is nice in aggressive midrange but can just be an expensive elf, Sarkhan is unique as both a fires and threaten effect, Huntmaster is just nice value but could work nicely with Mayor of Avabruck and Nightpack Ambusher but they both work better in Simic decks from what we've seen.

Is there something else obvious I'm missing?

    Thanks

    Hello All,

I'm back to cubing more regularly again and have been cutting the cube down a lot. I got it to 405 cards and have been thinking that I should really cut it to 360, the main loss (or the reason I stopped at 405) is that the 4th guild land isn't needed at 360 so the manlands would be leaving. This is a bit sad as we really enjoy them and they've sudden;y begun to be drafted and activated a lot more often.

Way back when I started with a 360 cube Celestial Colonnade and Creeping Tar Pit were good enough to run as part of the 3 card spell section where the lands are dual, shock and fetch, is this still the case? I'm guessing so as essentially every deck in those colours would like another fixer which is also a win-con but the guild spells are way deeper than they were 9 years ago.

There's also a crazy idea of cutting duals (means lands have drawbacks) or shocks (more powerful), but that feels like it'll make mana bases a lot worse as fetches are going to be getting basics a lot more often.

I did a search of 360 card cube on Cube Cobra but they vary wildly and searching for 360 cubes on here gives an invalid search term error. I added in powered since that gets powered and unpowered results but there's not many 360s and a lot of the threads seem quite outdated since the advent of cube tutor and cube cobra. As such I felt a new thread was justified.

    Thanks.

I've been doing some cube overhauling and read in an old This or That post that Hydroid Krasis was doing pretty well for folks? Has this card outperformed the original pessimism or did I misread? Given the price of the card I presume it's doing a lot of work in standard?

With guild slots getting very tight I was considering dropping Falkenrath Aristocrat since Yawgmoth adds a sac outlet at the same cc, with a better effect and without needing red. Probably should run both though...

What's the minimum folks would run for the persist combo?

Woops, so you don't I did a comparison between our cubes on cubetutor but I had my cube on the right rather than the left, as usual, so got mixed up. Smile

Just a heads up Hicham but the link in your signature goes to the main home page not your cube list.

    Thanks
